Knuckles has been confirmed to appear in Sonic Unleashed, making him the 4th confirmed character in the upcoming release following Sonic, Tails and Amy (Not counting Super Sonic and Werehog Sonic). From to the UK’s official Playstation Magazine:

awesome!!! more Sonic and less characters!!! Im guessing the “new” character the magazine was talking about is the werehog? this is looking better and better! its a must-buy!
It’s certainly shaping up to be a must buy in my opinion. I’m really hoping we get some more Sonic Unleashed Videos showing off gameplay in the near future, but SEGA has been pretty quiet lately.
Onlay Sonic is alright, but I want to see Tails and Co. in the game.
Just see in the story, it´s not worse if I couldn´t play them, but just Sonic is….well I love Sonic but Tails and Knuckles are a ” must be in every Sonic game”. There are lot of new charakters but they HAVE to be in the game.
Well SegaSonic, both Tails and Knuckles are in the game. We learned in ONM that Tails and Amy would both be making appearances in Sonic Unleashed:

Well, i hope shadow is in the game. His presence would make the story darker and more mature, think sa2.
Voltaire, I respect your opinion, but I think a lot of us retro Sonic Fans have had just about enough of a hedgehog with guns.

I like sonic, knuckles and tails,….(the classic trio), and eggman…
the anothers can appear in less protagonism..
sa2 had no guns.
I will be happy is this game does sticks with the original sonic characters, though I have nothing against all his other friends it might prove to be a more “pure” if you will Sonic game if it sticks to its roots even more with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

The latest sonic games had had crappy storylines, and what i meant by shadow is that i hope sega comes up with a solid story. Sonic Heroes was a disappoinment, and sonic 06 was just terrible. Im hoping for gameplay better than secret rings, and thats ultametly what matters most, but i also what a good story, and sa2 had the best storyline of any sonic game, and im sure the introduction of the antihero hedgehog had somthing to do with that.
ps. Shadow the Hedghog shouldnt have been made.

YES!!! Knuckles and Tails in the game!! I really dislike tons of charactres, but tails and Knuckles (along with sonic) are definatley my faves. I was dissapointed to hear that Knuckles was not playable in superstars tennis, and shadow, amy, tails, eggman and sonic were. I really hope that tails and knuckles are playable characters. I know it says starring roles, but i really hope they are playable. We’ve never been able to properly play as them for years, I still play SA2 because each character could be playable on their own. (SA1 is the same) I know the game is all about the hedgehog, but i dont want it to be sonic specific like the ’secret rings’ game was. I’m sad that they kicked Silver out. He is only in hmm. 3 games? Sonic in hmm…ALL OF THEM!! (Maybe in Tails Adventure idk.) And I’ve had just about enough of Shadow. Shadow ruined SA2 Because they made Him look like the best character and not Sonic. (He died… Hip hip hooray) But then here comes Sonic Team and they make him in Sonic Heroes. “Talk about being stubburn and full of surprises.” The only thing good about Sonic Heroes is that There are a whole bucnh of Shadow thingies at the end of team dark which means they are a whole bunch of shadows out there. Not that I hate him, I’m just SICk of the guy. Lol Sonic rulez and so does Silver and tails and knux but not amy. (REPLACE HER, SOMEONE!!!) Sorry for long comment
@AllHailSilver: *takes a deap breath* Okay. First, Sonic is in all Sonic games because they are SONIC games! Second, I assume you’re a Silver fan, right? Why would you want him in a game with a werewolf?! The “silver is a werewolf’s weakness” jokes would be retentless. Third, there are many people who enjoy/love/obsess over/are a fan of Shadow. Finally, Amy came before Knuckles, so in my mind, she has more of a right to be in the newer games. In conclusion, please try to stay positive about Unleashed and Sonic in general. Who knows? We may be in for a surprise!
Thats good, Knuckles is cool and all but his gameplay was so boring in sa1 and 2, i hope this game is all sonic and his werehog form. Maybe he can be in Multiplayer if theres gonna be.
