SEGA’s Gamer’s Day has come and gone, and some new details have been revealed in regards to their upcoming title, Sonic Unleashed. IGN has done a great writeup revealing control schemes, some more information about levels (some we’ve already learned), and new information regarding characters in Sonic Unleashed as well as multiplayer.
“The publisher says that the game features a fully cooked overworld with villages and side quests. If you’d rather just zip through traditional levels, you can ignore the overworld altogether, but it’ll be there for those who want it…
…And you will on occasion be able to play as a character other than Sonic, although the focus of the game will definitely be on the Hedgehog…
…The forced split-screen face-offs in the Sonic Adventure games are out. Unleashed is a single-player only experience. There will not be a multiplayer mode of any kind, according to SEGA.”
Overall, they were overly impressed with their first looks at Sonic Unleashed, stating “Sonic Team has finally taken the franchise forward again“. We’ll keep an eye out for new screens and Sonic Unleashed videos that may come from their Gamer’s Day.

@Super The Sonic: There was a Sonic and Amy clip? All I saw was that fake render shot of amazingly low quality… in any case, Fluffy probably -will- meet with Amy at the least – after all, ‘fated lovers always come together’, if you catch my drift. And my reference. I think Shadow may be in for a ride as well.
Am I the only person here who won’t have a problem with the game until it comes out and the reviews all put it down as total **** that isn’t even nearly as good as Superman 64? (If I remember, not even Sonic ‘06 did that bad. We were lucky it got the score it did, and that Silver’s levels all worked fine.)
y`know, i wonder if the werehog will accidently encounter a character,like amy for example.(and to this note,we have only seen two people,:1(sonic) and 2(Robotnik) we have no idea HOW the characters will look)anyone remember the cover up when they accidently showed the clip with were sonic and amy?
yeah admin sega might just be hiding multiplayer from the public
multiplayers awesome it made the series better
