I’d like to start doing a monthly roundup of happenings in the Sonic world, emphasizing important posts made here, and at various other source sites, just to help our new (and frequent) viewers keep up with everything going on with Sonic Unleashed and other titles. May will be the first in this series, and we’ll probably keep these up at the beginning of every subsequent month.
So, without any delay:
- Sonic Unleashed Scans in EGM - EGM got some early impressions with Sonic Unleashed, and revealed their thoughts in their May 2008 issue.
- ONM Sonic Unleashed Scans - Official Nintendo Magazine had a hands on with Sonic Unleashed themselves, and we’ve posted the scans here at Camp Sonic.
- Sega confirmed for E3 2008 - …and we think they may just be showcasing a certain game.
- New Info from Sega Gamer’s Day 2008 - May 14th was Sega Gamers day, and they shared some new information about Sonic Unleashed that we haven’t already heard.
- Interview with SoA Producer on Sonic Unleashed - We’ve put together a post showing everything new revealed in an interview with Patrick Rileyk.
Updates:
- Sonic Unleashed Screenshots - We’ve got loads of new Sonic Unleashed Screenshots and scans from various magazines and outlets.
Around the Web:
- SEGA America Blog talks about Sonic Chronicles - SoA has started documenting their experience in working with the upcoming Nintendo DS title Sonic Chronicles. Their first in the series talks about 5 reasons why working on Sonic Chronicles has been fun.
- SEGA gets a facelift - Not exactly “Sonic” related, but probably worth a look if you haven’t seen their new design already.
- Sonic Chronicles Hands-On - Kotaku shares their impressions with their very own hands on with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for Nintendo DS.

This is handy for newcomers.
Let me guess, you had to much time on your hands and had this good idea?
Or did you plan this for a while?
Ha, I never seem to have enough time on my hands!
I thought this would be a great way to bring newcomers up to speed with Sonic Unleashed, while at the same time provide our frequent viewers with all of the important information that they may have missed. With how busy I tend to be, I miss important things all the time (which is one of the reasons I love hearing from you guys when something new pops up that I may have overlooked), so I figured some people may benefit from this.
As for planning it, it was pretty loosely planned, although I scheduled this post a week ago.
But this is going to be quite a big post next month I think.
Do you know anybody who is going to the E3?
I’ve got a few connections here and there, but I’m not who will or won’t be attending E3 at this point. I know that I’m not going to be there, but no matter what the case is, we’ll keep people up to date with what’s going on out west.
Ooo, very, very great idea. Kudos to you, admin. XD
Wait, didn’t SOE first announce those updates to the blogs with members of the Chronicles development team? Well, considering the “SEGA West” collaborating, I’d assume they’d be sharing content amongst themselves. Helpful for those who don’t check the stuff coming from SEGA of Europe, and considering that SEGA of America is dead last when it comes to updating regularly for the American Sonic community, this can only be good.
SEGA’s new layout is ridiculously white. But still, very cool. The gameplay videos they show on their site load faster than the exact same video mirrored on Youtube. >__<;; Their video from Sonic ‘06 is very much from a prototype build though, different yet awesome music and what not. *sigh* If only they got their **** straight before they started to make that game. Good thing that they appear to actually have some idea of what they want to do for Unleashed. XD
I know E3 is next month, but do anybody know when does it start?
E3 is July 15-17, I think.
And great idea, admin. This place has come a long way since it first opened. Keep it up!
You perhaps add the E3 date to the news post, admin.
It has been asked three times already.
I am seriously hogging the comments now…
Minimal 30% are my posts..
Whoa. Thats a lot of **** on Sonic you got there admin.
I wonder how huge the levels in Sonic Unleashed may be. Sonic 3 & Knuckles and had huge levels…
I wonder if anything in Sonic Unleashed may take longer than 10 minutes.
Some people hated the long stages of heroes..
But then again, this game has much more flow than heroes,so I am all for long levels.
Hey dragonite, check out this screenshot… I want your response

Do you see the time in that screenshot? 9 minutes and 30 seconds.
Well…Just need to wait fot the others information until the upcoming game
yeah the time is something graet and respectable and its good to have long time to adventure
If it is 10 minutes of fun,I am all for it.
It is only sour if you die close to the end,and have all score gone..

This is 12 mins.
Quite a lot.
I dont care bout score that much.
Well,on the first run dying is okay, and is bound to happen anyway, but sooner of later you want to A rank a level.
And in some games it trows you off, most notably heroes.
In this game you lose all ring energy as you die I think, which greatly disrupts your flow as you died in a hard area as well, with lots of enemies and traps that the sonic boost can make easier.
But if that gauge is almost empty…yeah…it figures that dieing in this game won’t be nice either.
The only 3-d game where dieing was’t a big deal was sa1,because of the lack of gauges and the ranking system.
what would you expect on battle boss is it 2d or 3d?
do you think that emerl will be in this game?
I bet that it will vary.
But most likely they will be SATSR style.
It depens on the question if you are able to move freely at some point, because the overworld stages, whatever they may be,hint at that.
What is SATSR style.
Never played secret rings, I don’t know.
Look up some bosses on youtube.
Some bosses are constant running ones, exept that it isn’t as bad as it was in heroes.
Other bosses use a cirular arena, with the boss in the middle.
Look for terms like ”erazor boss fight” ,and use related videos to check out the other ones.
Hmmm… Sega.com is down right now. Could be maintenance, but I suggest keeping an eye on things over there… you know, just in case.
sonic and the secret rings had the same style bosses as some of those in sonic heroes. They’re running backwards, attacking you, and your chasing them.
hopefully they won’t use the A,B,C,D,E ranks again based on score. I liked it in secret rings with just gold, silver, bronze, or none, based on time. It emphasizes the need for speed.
I liked the score.
But mostly how it was done in SA2,with all of those fancy routes and tricks.
can someone answer this?:do you think that emerl will be in this game?
when does it come out and what system?
xbox,wii,ps2 and the ps3
forgot about the date,is suposed to be at the end of summer.
