Camp Sonic Giveaway #1 – Win Free Stuff!
Our viewers — that is, you kind folks, are probably the most helpful, enthusiastic bunch I’ve ever had the pleasure to be with in terms of an online community. Between the quick responses I see in discussions here, to the way I find dozens of emails in my inbox just seconds after a new Sonic Unleashed announcement hits the net (how the heck do you guys do that…), it’s clear that we’ve got something really special going here.
Which is why it’s a total bummer when I have no real updates to share with everyone for several weeks. Yes, Camp Sonic saw quite the positive response when we launched our Facts Unleashed page for Sonic Unleashed, but even that was dry when it comes to new information.
So… what happens when we don’t have new information to share with the Sonic Community? How About a Giveaway?
Here’s the deal folks — I don’t have too much to give away RIGHT now (we’ll hold back the bigger contests until we get closer to the Sonic Unleashed release date), but I do have some odds and ends to share with the Camp Sonic fans!
The Rules
There are some rules for this contest, but don’t fret, they’re simple. There are a few ways you can win things:
- Participate in discussions! Be helpful, insightful, and kind. We’ll pick a random winner from people who simply post comments here at Camp Sonic, but will not count comments which are rude, spam (duh), or otherwise do not better our community here.
- Have a Website? Link to Camp Sonic with one of our easy to copy+paste codes, Spread word about us, and you might be one of our randomly selected winners. You’ll need to contact us to let us know you’re linking to Camp Sonic!
- Are you an Artist? Why not send us some original Sonic Unleashed fan art of yours? If you send us something really nifty, we’ll feature it RIGHT HERE on the site, and maybe send you some goodies as well! You’ll need to upload your work to some place like Flickr, Photobucket, or deviantART (And give us permission to use it here on Camp Sonic if we decide to feature it).
The Prizes
We’re still figuring out all of the prizes (what that means is we want to make sure all of the goodies are good quality before sending you something… well, not so good), but you could be winning any one of the following things:
- A set of Black, White, and Blue Camp Sonic Mini-Pins (shown in the header of this post). These are really awesome for pin collections. I’ve already got 9 of these things on my laptop case! Definitely a way to express your love for Camp Sonic!
- Camp Sonic Shirts
- Camp Sonic Mousepads
- More? Like we said, prizes are note entirely confirmed yet!
We’ll pick at least 5 lucky winners before July 10th (Giving you sometime to get excited for E3)! Winners will be emailed, and will need to respond in a timely fashion with their shipping details in order to claim prizes.

@dragonite: Well dragonite, I think a lot of our fans come from over the pond (in several directions actually, as I’ve seen people come from all over the world… Brazil, UK, Germany, Australia, you name it). I’ve got a chunk of money set aside for this contest, so shipping really shouldn’t be an issue for fans of Camp Sonic.

Well,my main worry is that my parents will certainly forbid giving my adress out on the internet,so I rather skip this for that reason.

WOOO! Yay Australia. To bad I don’t have any actual talents in the realm of artistry and plus my Mother would flip if I gave our address to someone she hadn’t met before.
Lol. Those are great. ‘Speacially (forgive my faulty english) like the Friends after all one.
Here’s what you guys can do. You must have a “friend,” or “cousin” who’d let you use their address, right?
Anyway, those “Camp Sonic” pins and merchandise. For the sake of the fans, why not add a “Sonic” logo to them. Like that “Sonic image” in the “Sonic Team” logo. This way, if a person walks down the street wearing a “camp sonic” shirt, it’d be much more noticable if a Sonic icon was there. That way people walking down will say… “oh… camp Sonic” as in “Sonic the Hedgehog! Can I join your camp?”
Well, we can’t print any Sonic/SEGA logos, as that would be a huge violation of their rights. This is why we chose to print simply our own branding.
I really like this, and will definitely send an art in.

I have returned my friends! Is Knuckles in this game? I hope he can turn Super. He couldn’t even turn Hyper in Sonic Riders. I think Rouge can do something along those lines in Sonic Adventure 2.

@admin: Ha, I figured it out. Trying to download it right at this point. Take it from me, downloading a gameplay video on a 56k modem might be slow, but streaming a gameplay video on a 56k modem is nearly impossible. :P

Wish I could help you with your 56k modem troubles, but you’re stuck with that. Some folks have uploaded it to youtube (probably a lot faster than IGN’s version).

Ah, that’s alright, not much you can do. XD Admittedly, downloading the FLV file of the trailer from Youtube would be faster, BUT the server that it’s on can stop and even restart the download, making it very unreliable. Admittedly, the lowest quality vid on IGN is 20.1 MB, but it’s on a more reliable server and it’ll probably be better looking than the Youtube version. It’s nice to have options. XD

i just started coming here and i think this contest is pretty cool. ive always been a sonic collecter and i might submit some artwork. i just got one bit of advice (dont take this the wrong way) put up a prize other than camp sonic i mean there cool and all cause you can walk up to some guy and say hi i just got back from camp sonic, but this is our favorite blue guy. one more thing, just a request, please put up a sonic or camp sonic hat for a prize like abaseball cap not a beanie

What is it with people and hats! I mean if it’s just for the fact that it’s supposed to make you look cool and like you don’t care about the rules, well wouldn’t it be cooler to not wear caps seeing as it’s giving you permanent protection from the sun?
@iNAUDiBLE: Oh, I live in Australia and all we have is the games. If someone who lives in Austalia could prove me wrong I’d be most satisfied.
@Jason: We might actually have a baseball cap available to selected winners ;) As for prizes, this is just a fun little thing I wanted to try out while we spend our time waiting for Sonic Unleashed. We’ll probably give out copies of the game, or some other nifty prizes as we draw near to November… nothing confirmed though!

Because i read the information, drew a picture, and re-read the information and saw ” . . . Sonic Unleashed fan art . . . ” And from the information i have gathered . . . Dark Sonic, unfortunately, isnt in Sonic Unleashed. Is it alright if i sent in a picture of Dark Sonic?

It’s been a long time coming. I have played Sonic games since the first game and let me tell ya, I never looked back. In fact, I just happen to be at You tube today(out of curiosity) checking out gameplay videos of Sonic The Hedgehog(06). Sonic games truly are something special, both good and bad. As a birthday gift, you can bet I’ll purchase The soon to be epic comeback, Sonic Unleashed. So here’s to another 3 years til your 20th anniversary.
regardless of bad camera angles, game control, and other flaws, we sonic fans live our lives never looking back and no regrets.
