Our viewers — that is, you kind folks, are probably the most helpful, enthusiastic bunch I’ve ever had the pleasure to be with in terms of an online community. Between the quick responses I see in discussions here, to the way I find dozens of emails in my inbox just seconds after a new Sonic Unleashed announcement hits the net (how the heck do you guys do that…), it’s clear that we’ve got something really special going here.
Which is why it’s a total bummer when I have no real updates to share with everyone for several weeks. Yes, Camp Sonic saw quite the positive response when we launched our Facts Unleashed page for Sonic Unleashed, but even that was dry when it comes to new information.
So… what happens when we don’t have new information to share with the Sonic Community? How About a Giveaway?
Here’s the deal folks — I don’t have too much to give away RIGHT now (we’ll hold back the bigger contests until we get closer to the Sonic Unleashed release date), but I do have some odds and ends to share with the Camp Sonic fans!
The Rules
There are some rules for this contest, but don’t fret, they’re simple. There are a few ways you can win things:
- Participate in discussions! Be helpful, insightful, and kind. We’ll pick a random winner from people who simply post comments here at Camp Sonic, but will not count comments which are rude, spam (duh), or otherwise do not better our community here.
- Have a Website? Link to Camp Sonic with one of our easy to copy+paste codes, Spread word about us, and you might be one of our randomly selected winners. You’ll need to contact us to let us know you’re linking to Camp Sonic!
- Are you an Artist? Why not send us some original Sonic Unleashed fan art of yours? If you send us something really nifty, we’ll feature it RIGHT HERE on the site, and maybe send you some goodies as well! You’ll need to upload your work to some place like Flickr, Photobucket, or deviantART (And give us permission to use it here on Camp Sonic if we decide to feature it).
The Prizes
We’re still figuring out all of the prizes (what that means is we want to make sure all of the goodies are good quality before sending you something… well, not so good), but you could be winning any one of the following things:
- A set of Black, White, and Blue Camp Sonic Mini-Pins (shown in the header of this post). These are really awesome for pin collections. I’ve already got 9 of these things on my laptop case! Definitely a way to express your love for Camp Sonic!
- Camp Sonic Shirts
- Camp Sonic Mousepads
- More? Like we said, prizes are note entirely confirmed yet!
We’ll pick at least 5 lucky winners before July 10th (Giving you sometime to get excited for E3)! Winners will be emailed, and will need to respond in a timely fashion with their shipping details in order to claim prizes.

I really like this, and will definitely send an art in.
Well, we can’t print any Sonic/SEGA logos, as that would be a huge violation of their rights. This is why we chose to print simply our own branding.
Here’s what you guys can do. You must have a “friend,” or “cousin” who’d let you use their address, right?
Anyway, those “Camp Sonic” pins and merchandise. For the sake of the fans, why not add a “Sonic” logo to them. Like that “Sonic image” in the “Sonic Team” logo. This way, if a person walks down the street wearing a “camp sonic” shirt, it’d be much more noticable if a Sonic icon was there. That way people walking down will say… “oh… camp Sonic” as in “Sonic the Hedgehog! Can I join your camp?”

@dragonite: Well dragonite, I think a lot of our fans come from over the pond (in several directions actually, as I’ve seen people come from all over the world… Brazil, UK, Germany, Australia, you name it). I’ve got a chunk of money set aside for this contest, so shipping really shouldn’t be an issue for fans of Camp Sonic.
