Camp Sonic

It figures that the same day I make a case of there being no new Sonic Unleashed content, a brand new Sonic Unleashed Trailer is posted. I actually am not even around a computer at this point, so I’ll leave it up to you folks to talk about the video I’m posting, and join in when I am able to watch it myself. Update Below!

Enjoy! And really… Tell me what it’s about in the comments! I’ll have a more official update in the next few hours.

Update!!!

Found a working connection so that I could make a real update (and watch the video myself)! This new Sonic Unleashed video from the Xbox 360 features 2 full minutes of beautiful gameplay, chuck full of new gameplay elements, and incredible visuals of the Europe stage (which we pointed out was the 4th stage of Sonic Unleashed).

IGN’s posted both a low and high resolution version of the video, which you can grab here.

I noticed a few things I haven’t seen before during my first watch, such as Skydiving through tunnels with spikes floating around, and popups for when to press buttons to avoid danger. I’ll be updating our Facts Unleashed page soon, so if you notice anything new, be sure to share in the comments!

I thought I was excited when I saw the first trailer for this game… but now Sega’s raised my expectations to a whole new level.

Thanks for the heads up ‘blah… ok’!

Update 2!!!

You can grab a High Resolution High Europe Sonic Unleashed Trailer for free now!

Well, it looks good. I just hope the Werewolf gameplay works. Still, something doesn’t feel right. I have an odd feeling that a lot of people are still going to dislike this game despite what Sonic Team’s saying…

yeah that was pretty sick, this new sonic drift was used better than i thought and the button pressing sequence adds 2 a whole new dynamic of controlling sonic speed because people are always complaining that he’s 2 hard too control and so i think this will help alot and provide that old Shenmue Action feel

did u see the part when he was jumping from rail 2 rail. you need good hand- eye corrdination to do that perfectly since everything was moving so frikin fast.

That was insanely awsome and it really resembles “Florence” SEGA and the NEW sonic team are gonna make a big comeback Sonic Drift seems to be an awsome addition to sonics arsenal of moves

I noticed at the beggining the level seemed extremely complex and hard to get around but after watching that video im impressed and convinced that this is the perfect fusion of Sonic Adventure, Sonic Rush and the Creatively and well based ideas of Yoshihisa Hashimoto

I actually counted 12 of them in the video. Some of them seemed a bit out of place to be used like that. We’ll see.

@admin: I saw the balloons! I guess they’re to get you to the platform above the narrow passage that you press B to slide into. …the sliding looked cooler in my opinion, but hey, balloons!

Also, I noticed the slow frame rate when Sonic was jumping into the tunnel with the floating spike balls…maybe they’re doing that for a more cinimatic effect, but if that’s so, it needs a bit more polish, I reckon. :P

Did anyone else see the balloons?

THAT WAS LIKE WOW. I just stared at the screen in amazement. If SEGA keeps it up this may be their big break. BTW the music was to die for in this trailer.

It looks way cool, and I don’t see why the Wii shouldn’t be able to handle those kinds of graphics!
I am however a little worried that some parts are too simple, like in the loops, where I think a backways camera would be better than a sideways view.

My theorie is that the level sort of combines cities of europe.
The wall in the beginning looks like the colosseum in Rome.

wow!!! it certainly looks like it. youre right, but now that I look at it again, its not identical to Big Ben, so I guess its not London…

@Ssonic22: Antarctica is a continent, so I suspect that maybe we’ll be seeing that one as well. :D

Considering that one of my favorite bands tried to set a record to play shows in all seven continents on Earth in the shortest amount of time, it’s going to be cool to see our favorite hedgehog set a record to collect all the Chaos Emeralds in all seven continents of a slightly different Earth in the shortest amount of time. (And succeed) :P

…wait, didn’t the Nintendo Power article on it show Sonic in what appeared to be space? Possibilities, eh? Possibilities…

@Ssonic22: Yes, it certainly does look like Big Ben in the beginning of the video. Here’s a shot that I took in Florence that I was sort of reminded of during the video. I’ve never been to London, so I’m not sure if it’s really comparable or not :P
