Camp Sonic

It figures that the same day I make a case of there being no new Sonic Unleashed content, a brand new Sonic Unleashed Trailer is posted. I actually am not even around a computer at this point, so I’ll leave it up to you folks to talk about the video I’m posting, and join in when I am able to watch it myself. Update Below!

Enjoy! And really… Tell me what it’s about in the comments! I’ll have a more official update in the next few hours.

Update!!!

Found a working connection so that I could make a real update (and watch the video myself)! This new Sonic Unleashed video from the Xbox 360 features 2 full minutes of beautiful gameplay, chuck full of new gameplay elements, and incredible visuals of the Europe stage (which we pointed out was the 4th stage of Sonic Unleashed).

IGN’s posted both a low and high resolution version of the video, which you can grab here.

I noticed a few things I haven’t seen before during my first watch, such as Skydiving through tunnels with spikes floating around, and popups for when to press buttons to avoid danger. I’ll be updating our Facts Unleashed page soon, so if you notice anything new, be sure to share in the comments!

I thought I was excited when I saw the first trailer for this game… but now Sega’s raised my expectations to a whole new level.

Thanks for the heads up ‘blah… ok’!

Update 2!!!

You can grab a High Resolution High Europe Sonic Unleashed Trailer for free now!

@Sση¡Ć ΓħЄ ĦeÐġeħōӘ: While I have to admit that I liked that idea being used in Sonic Rush Adventure, that was Blaze’s world…and well, seeing as Sonic doesn’t live in a world entirely in fantasy (It’s essentially an alternate Earth with anthomorphic animals, more world destroying monsters and a giant talking egg with plans to build an empire with his slightly dorky lookin’ robots. That fantastic enough for ya? :D ), I see no reason not to use humans, perhaps with a mix of the animals like the Flickies. I mean, the only time that the human involvement was bad was when humans had a VERY central role in the plot, not being NPCs, not being supporting characters, not being in flashbacks, a CENTRAL role…which the only time that happened was in Sonic ‘06, which Sonic Team has been trying to distance itself from. They DID say that they were going to use “stylized humans”, which makes me wonder what style they’re going to use…So long as they all aren’t too dull and ONE of them owns a chili dog stand, I personally wouldn’t mind. ’sides, humans are technically animals. :P

I am okay with real people, mostly because of the real world inspired stages.
But sega needs to depict them right, and watch out with cross species kisses on the mouth.
Okay,I did´t mind, but the ruckus it caused is amusing.

One thing that SEGA should not due is use real people. Use animals, and make them have their own character. If there will be a snow town, use some penquins… make them live in cabins, and supply Sonic with information and guidance. Heck why not give him some Chilli Dogs. Thats what the Sonic games have been missing, give Sonic some Chilli Dogs. LOL.

Anyways, Sonic is a fantasy character, leave him in a fantasy world.

I just hope that sega handles the loading times better.
Loading alone isn’t a bit deal, but repeated long loading in levels and the TERRIBLE re-loading on town mission for each little extra thing that need to be loaded, like a TEXTBOX.

Yeah,I rather have that fixed, even if the loading times become even longer,it only will be once.

By the way, admin, I’ve uploaded a piece of my SU Fanwork to Photobucket. Here’s a link…

I totally agree that the levels should be accessed by taking paths branching from the main hubs.

I also agree the hubs should be themed appropriately like in Sonic Adventure.

The whole town stage in Sonic 06 was a good idea, just poorly executed and rushed. I think in Unleased, the town environment should be close to the type of environment the level is. If the level is a snow level, make town snowy and have a trail up a mountain or valley that leads to the level. Make the town stages blend into the level. Don’t use a cheap way out, like in Sonic 06 (teleporting mirrors). Also SEGA should impliment some type of mini games in the town levels, but keep them to the theme of the town.

just a thought. please comment on this if you like.

All I can say is that it’s about darn time to see Sonic how he should be. If this game does not get Sonic back on top of the charts where he should be, then something is wrong with the videogame world. The level is very fast paced, I really like the idea of the town stages to calm the player down, becasue if its only just levels, then it could get very tiring after a while.

If the game so far looks and plays this clean, i can’t imagine how good it will be when it releases.

    Long live Sonic.

@Setembro: I’ve been looking myself for a free one, but wasn’t able to find it. I ended up shelling out a couple of bucks to IGN to watch theres (in hopes that I’ll use it for something else eventually).

    I’ll keep an eye out.

I’m just also wondering how they’ll pull off the button pressing (like the side-stepping in those small alleys/streets) using the Wii Remote/Nunchuk combo. Perhaps by flicking the Wii Remote to either the left or right? And I sure hope there’s also a Secret Rings-style control (holding the Wii Remote in both hands, bit like Mario Kart does), since it worked, just needed refinement.

You know, that odd feeling may be because the camera is actually quite frantic at the moment. It switches from 2.5D to 3D to somewhere in between (you know, those shots that are at an angle… like at 0:30 to 0:32) quite randomly… that’s the only thing worrying me right now. However, the controls look tighter than before, and it’s definitely MUCH faster than any 3D Sonic game I’ve played/seen.

hmmm and the game covers all 7 continents hey? lol i’d like to see what the australian one looks like. XD
OH! and it’d be lovely to have a vegas run… i hope team sonic shoves one in. *can’t wait for the pretty neon lights and pinball machines*
