    @DoctorEggman:

Hope they Don’t, or wii and ps2 owners would be REALLY angry!

I sincerely hope that Sega don’t fumble the ball on the Wii and PS2 version having put all their time into the Next-Gen consoles but, with all the teamwork and preparing they’ve been doing it should be a fun game anyway.

@dragonite: Yeah, so many new people! Most of them seem cool though, so I think that so long as we attempt to scare off the dumber ones, we’ll be fine.

I don’t know if there is a way to make it so that people have to register in order to comment? That would put some people off, but it seems a bit…exclusive to me. Like dragonite said, this place has a more casual tone, where people can just jump in and registering may defeat that…

If this game is as fun to play as it looks, it may be one of the best platformers ever made. And ever since Mario stayed from his objective roots, he has taken a different path than Sonic. But they are both still platformers which can be compared. I think they’ve both had their share of bad games, (most of which were spin-offs) but I just like to focous on the good games of the series instead of being all butt-hurt over the past. But thinking back to 2006 when I was getting excited for Sonic 06, I remember how it was a crushing disappointment to see that what COULD HAVE been an awesome game made into garbage that leaves a bad taste in gamers’ mouths. I’m hoping this isn’t a repeat of that year. A few things help mefeel comfortable about this game:
    -The gameplay is more simple
-the graphics engine has had a few years in the making
-SoJ, A, & E are working on this as well as Dimps hrelping to develope the Wii version’s daytime stages.

One thing that worries me despite all that is the possibility of Sega treating the Wii like a PS2 like they’ve done with
    Superstars Tennis.

Someting I noticed right away in the comments is that some guy said someting among the lines of ”mario is *******”
So when it gets busier, indeed angy people with bias come by…
    You saw that coming early,admin.

A forum will certainly increase this, but it would be wonderful to create topics to neatly ordered dicuss specific thing such as sonic drift.
But then again,as you pointed out,it may put down the main page a bit.
I see this as the main reason to say ”no”.

Rude people are bad,but with some effort,we should be able to ward them off.
I sort off had a idea with a ”knucklehead” infraction for being rude and ignorant, for example.

This site’s charm is the casual tone of it,and that may be lost..
But I am also afraid that once information reaches critial levels, the comments get overun, and it is becomes hard to calmly dicuss someting, and that spread trough them, more violent dicussions will start.
But that is all doom-thinking,looking at the site right now.

I couldn’t keep up with the trailer, and the screens are totally amazing, I can’t wait for some new info, more importantly, I can’t wait for some night-time footage/screens. That would calm me down until holidays.

HOLY SHITTTT!!!! Now that´s what I call FAST! O.o´
I saw the Trailer and was like…. like…. Waaaaah goin crazy!!!
The Visuals are really amazing, I would say better than Galaxy in many parts!
Have you noticed the low framerate when Sonic jumps on that metal thing and then falls into that tunnel?
To bad that I couldn´t see the Trailer earlier today, my job somertimes really nerves me, also the time difference here in Germany is a problem!
I wonder how many different paths you can take, I mean, look at the city, it´s HUGE!!!
When I look at this big city I can´t believe that they work on this game for only one year!!! O.o

How will this big city level look like in the Wii version, I would say that 2D, at least in this stage, on the Wii, would make sense, because I don´t think the Wii could display so many buildings at once!

At least I can say: Now I can die peacefully! :)

@dragonite: Hm, that would make a bit more sense. I mean, you normally don’t see bipedal animals drifting without the assistance of automobiles, so awkward positions would make sense…maybe it’s all about timing, if you let go immediately, you could be careening into another direction, if you let go at the right time, you could get right into the corner with a speed increase, if you hold on too late, you’ve essentially stopped. …I sure hope that any tutorial we got is damn good at illustrating how to use this!

@chaoscontrol: Kudos to your mom for being willin’ to watch. XD Hm, I’d agree! I hope that it’s fast enough for you to stay in control… It’s interesting how they’re always raising the bar on speed. After playing the Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure titles, going back to Sonic Advance 3 is hard at times, it feels slower, and when playing it on the DS, I’m doing trick actions even though the Sonic Advance series doesn’t have them. I wonder if it will be hard to go back to, heck, Sonic Adventure series after this one comes out!

@iNAUDiBLE: Not sure if we’ll end up needing mods for the Blog, but if we bring on additional writers, they’ll for sure have some way to set them apart. Glad you like the additional layout tweaks =) Did you see the recent comments posted up in the right menu (bottom of the sidebar).

Still got a few things to do here and there :)

I noticed in the video that sonic was in quite a awkward angle, but once the drift stopped,he straightened right away.
I guess you should pay attention to sonic’s position, and quit as soon as the turn is over.

admin- Aww, man, blowing my mind, blowing my miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind. Not just these screenshots, but these additional little layout alterations, such as your nice new black Spin Dash post background and the “reply to poster” option. Good on ya. If it gets to the point where we may need mods or maybe AAUK or another SEGA crew member decides to give us some hookups, will THEY get colored post backgrounds too?

…I thought that production on the ENGINE for the game took three years? Admittedly, they could’ve developed the game alongside the engine or having the engine already finished could’ve helped speed up the production process, but still, this looks GOOD, regardless of having a year or not. *shrugs* Yeah, the Sonic Drift move looks like one of those things to watch out for, but then again, the SEGA of America blog that had SEGADawg testing said that the controls were oversensitive and that programmers would spend time tweakin’ it. So, maybe it will be easier to control in Final. We won’t know for sure for a while…

@dragonite: Well, AAUK was here no more than a week or two ago. I think Sega listens to the Sonic Community, and visits sites like Camp Sonic every now and then to see what people are saying.

The actual game might have short delevopment, but the real star of this game is the hedgehog engine.

I am worried about the sonic drift.
On sega gamers day, that guy who wrote a article on it said that one of the demonstrators screwed up doing the move.
And in the movie it seem to be tricky to control, sega needs to watch out that this vital move works.
I wonder what happens if you crash into a wall…

Another thing that has me intrested is the question of how aware sega is of this site :p
I am pretty sure a few of them have seen this site because because it is relativaly well known.
It would be awesome if one commented here.

@blah…okay: Well, from what I understand, Sega has neither confirmed or denied the Hedgehog Engines use in automobiles (or lawn mowers even). All we know is that it was developed internally for high-end platforms (whatever that means), and it makes things “beautiful”, and “larger than life”.

Admin, what do you know of the hedgehog engine? My friend wants to know if he can use it for his car. Or is it only for Sonic games?

@blah…okay: Actually, it’s been in development for over 3 years. It’s of course impossible to say the game is going to be a successful reboot, but so far, things are looking good I’d say.
