Sonic Unleashed is a nominee for a Golden Joystick Award
AAUK pointed this out over at the SEGA of Europe Blog this morning. Turns out that we’re not the only ones eyeing Sonic Unleashed this year, as it has been selected as a nominee for the One to Watch award in the 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards.
Probably the internet’s worst kept secret, Sonic Unleashed was finally revealed this year to tears of sheer joy from the spiky one’s legion of fans. Built on the new Hedgehog engine, Sonic will unleash smooth 3D to 2D gameplay and multiple paths through dynamic, fantastic worlds of sheer Sonic delight.
Winners will be announced in October (probably less than a month before we see Unleashed hit store shelves). You can get to voting for this award among many others over at GoldenJoystick.com.

UNRELATED: Hey folks, I’m seeing some new scans flying around on the web. Here’s a hunt for you. If any of you can send us scans from the new PS2 Mag in the UK, we may just send you something from our giveaway ;)
Also, if you know where to find LEVEL Magazines, the next issue is supposed to have some new information in it.

Hell Yeah! Unleashead deserves the golden joystick coz even from the storyline and the facts that its SONIC . I have a feeling that this is THE game that’s gonna put sonic where he belongs back on top.

I was looking for some new scans and found Sonic Unleashed updated release date. It is November 11, 2008.

Since they didn’t cite where they found the date, I have to assume they’re simply going with Amazon’s expected release date. Gamestop and several other sources mark the 4th of November as the official date, but no one knows for sure quite yet. We’ll have to hear from SEGA before we can be 100% sure.

It hasn’t been no 10 years since a Sonic game won an award. Do Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure suddenly slipped peoples minds?
Just goes to show that this game is probably going to be pretty amazing… I’m even more excited than before. Sonic is back, baby.
