Sonic Unleashed at E3

Great Success! Ripten has just confirmed Sonic Unleashed to be shown in a private, closed doors, invite only, intruders will be slain type of environment at E3 2008!  While Camp Sonic will not be attending (almost regretably, my priorities are elsewhere this July), we will be doing everything in our power to provide you, the fans, with the most accurate, extensive information available as we come across it.

Not much to say at this point, but we recently received word that while Sonic Unleashed will not be playable, it will be present at this years E3 as a part of SEGA’s behind closed doors “invite only” access. Fortunately for you, we have been granted access to this event, and plan to report back to you as soon as it concludes.

Note to fans: Keep an eye on Ripten.com during E3.  It will definitely pay off!

    This means I will have to sneak through the closed doors… AGAIN. That gets kind of annoying. But, when I stay in the Shadows, I don’t get caught.

    I learned that from playing Splinter Cell. Don’t worry guys, I’ll tell you all about Sonic Unleashed. I disagree with how the admin says “intruders will be slain.” They actually use non-lethal weapons on intruders.

    Hmm… WereSonic meets Amy huh? Will the Night Stages be revealed at E3? (Sorry if that’s a stupid question).

    @Sonic Rider: No further information has been revealed yet. We’ll find out soon enough though.

    Well, I guess this is the big one.

    You’d think it’d be playable and less private, though…

    @NintendoBrad: Being the non marketing Guru I am, I don’t quite understand it either, but this tends to be a popular trend for big releases.

    @admin: Easy, it builds up suspense for one to buy the product. If the product looks incredibly good, the secretive nature will result in more people purchasing the game. The less a person knows, the more likely they will fall prey to buying.

    @D2B: Well, they invite journalists in there so that they can then go out and tell everyone about the game. Typically they are also given screenshots/videos to go along it, so I’m not sure if it’s entirely just that.

    I could certainly see it being a PR problem if the entire public gets a view of the game, starts taking photographs, and then talks about it before an agreed date…

    @Jonny Modlin: Don’t Know, and mixed reports on playable characters. Sounds like it’s mostly Sonic though.

    Wait, does this mean it will, or won’t, be on G4? Cause the “behind closed doors” thing confused me.

    I agree dragonite but hey, dont let the leaks stop now. I’m LOVIN them! Unfortunately Sega wont be as careless next time round.
    Hope there will be some more info on the werehog at E3 or wherever we will get sonicormation from.

    *ahem* speaking of E3, Camp Sonic may, or may not have… you know… 2 inside contacts with SEGA connections that were invited to this exclusive showing.

    What does this mean? I may not be able to go myself, but we’ll still have exclusive coverage here at Camp Sonic on Sonic Unleashed during E3!

    They will propably screw up again by a chance of 70 percent from the stuff i noticed at the high europe trailer.

    I find this strange, since if Sega is proud of Sonic Unleashed, wouldn’t they want to show it off?

    @admin: @jorenmartijn:

    They will be showing it off, however they are not prepared to let the press play it just yet. This happens often at events such as this.

    @dragonite:

    Hey dragonite, isn’t it funny that Sega has trouble keeping a game called “Sonic Unleashed” a secret? They are trying to keep Sonic Unleashed behind closed doors… but Sonic keeps “unleashing” himself.

    Remember how WereWolf and Amy cutscene “unleashed” itself?

    *in Borat suit, with double thumbs up* GREAT SUCCESS!

    (my suit is not black. Admin’s suit is. :P)

    @WiiFP: I think that G4 will probably find someway to get in there (they have the credentials) or maybe SEGA will throw them a bone. Who knows? Stay tuned?

    @Sonic The Hedgehog: Wait, screw up with keeping “whatever they could keep secret” secret or screw up the entire freakin’ game? I mean, I saw the High Europe trailer, and it seemed to work extremely well, except for what appeared to be lag when Sonic jumped into the tunnel he has to sky dive in, but something tell me isn’t lag and it’s slowed down on purpose for CINEMATIC EFFECT. …but it doesn’t look all that smooth…Five months is enough to smooth out things, so long as they don’t waste their time! They already got their cutscenes figured out…XD

    @iNAUDiBLE: LOL! admin in black suit XD

    And what i really meant about the high Europe trailer is the last scene where you see Sonic grinding. He grinds the same way he did on sonic 2006 ( i told dragonite about it and he told me that it would be fixed but i am still worried though ). And what makes mr even more worried is that on the official trailer he grinds awesome unlike on the high Europe trailer… ( did SEGA choose to screw up the grinding mechanics again? ). The only thing that will relieve my heart right now about this thing is a new trailer where everything is going good with no screw ups…

  35. Sonic The Hedgehog Says:

    me not mr XD
    and i think that the only way SEGA will smoth things is by ******** up ( LOL just thinking ;) )
