Will the Wii and PS2 get the shorter straw with only 7 levels?

Before starting with this one, let me emphasize that this is a rumor. Again, rumor. Unconfirmed. Might not be true.

Not that we have reason to claim that Crispy Gamer is spreading false information, we simply don’t have any reason to believe they are right about what they are reporting at this time. I was actually almost not even going to post about this, and kind of let it sit on the back burner for a while, but it’s causing enough of a stir around TSSZ and TSS that I thought I’d get some of your thoughts about the whole debacle.

Unleashed will ship on four platforms: Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The big difference between them: The 360 and PS3 versions (in addition to their superior graphics) will feature nine levels; the Wii and PS2 will have only a paltry seven, and much crappier graphics.

Among other things, they are claiming that we won’t see ANY playtime from Tails or Amy, something we’re not entirely sure about either

I was never crazy about the Wii’s motion controls, and my PS2 is now obsolete ever since I got a 80GB PS3. So I, personally, am not bothered by the rumored level reduction… But that would totally suck for people who are buying it for the Wii/PS2! I mean, SHEESH, what could possibly be so different and/or difficult about those two levels anyway? If it IS true then are the Wii/PS2 versions gonna have something else special?

This level shortage thing ain’t gonna pull through, you just wait. Rumors these days! Just like Kid Icarus Wii concept art…Fake!

The Wii version of the game will be developed specifically to take advantage of its controller’s capabilities, with notable differences in gameplay. The game will use the Wii Remote and/or Nunchuk option; whilst character movement and basic actions will be assigned to buttons, certain actions will benefit from physical movements.[4] It will support the GameCube controller, and also the option of using the Classic Controller. The levels, whilst sharing the same styles, themes and motifs as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, will be different to those shared between the Wii[4][17] and the PlayStation 2 versions,[5] and Dimps will only be involved with design of the daytime stages for these versions.[3]

Unleashed is intended solely as a single-player experience, and will not offer any multiplayer or online modes.[4]

    1. Wait until a Sega Representative (did I spell that right) says some thing like this. Probably at E3.

    2. Just a rumour.

    3. If they did 9-7 levels they would put like 4-3 acts.

I hope they don’t make the PS2 and Wii graphics the same. The Wii is much more powerful than that old PS2.
