Before starting with this one, let me emphasize that this is a rumor. Again, rumor. Unconfirmed. Might not be true.
Not that we have reason to claim that Crispy Gamer is spreading false information, we simply don’t have any reason to believe they are right about what they are reporting at this time. I was actually almost not even going to post about this, and kind of let it sit on the back burner for a while, but it’s causing enough of a stir around TSSZ and TSS that I thought I’d get some of your thoughts about the whole debacle.
Unleashed will ship on four platforms: Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The big difference between them: The 360 and PS3 versions (in addition to their superior graphics) will feature nine levels; the Wii and PS2 will have only a paltry seven, and much crappier graphics.
Among other things, they are claiming that we won’t see ANY playtime from Tails or Amy, something we’re not entirely sure about either

I know this is a rumor.
But…I would like to point out. Wii does have a double layer disk technology. Brawl had to use it. So if Sonic Unleashed had to use it, that’s the optional route.
Just in case people forgot about that already.
I still plan to get the next gen version and a Wii version…the level designs and structure have been confirmed to be radically different. Why not buy both? If I didn’t have a Wii, I’d get PS3 and PS2 and play it on the same system haha.
@ Kev, Nice find! Im sure David will put it as news..once he gets back of course.
Anyway, this is interesting. But I’m not going to buy another console just to get an extra 2 levels. That’s what my friend with a 360 is for…
I hope this isn’t true, can’t afford a 360, don’t want a PS3. :/
Either way the Wii version is going to be pretty awesome, it will just be two levels less of awesome.
I was gonna get the p23 anyway so cool, it really doesnt matter to me…
Dragonite is right! I will definately get the XBOX360
hey guys check out this image that i found from the PS2 UK scans for unleashed http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/2640/sonicops20045xq7.jpg
SEGA! i have faith in you ( no matter what i saw in the high Europe trailer ). Please SEGA impress us!
xbox and ps3 will have the ”real” version featuring the hedgehog engine.Which is made to finally let sonic have good 3-d games.
And it looks awesome.
So I am betting on that one now,I think the wii version will end up slightly better than secret rings.
yeah hopefully guys it’s only 4 days till E3! bring on the chao’s and weresonic and new gameplay!!
@TailstheHedgehog: No yur right, in fact i’m 99% gunna buy it for the 360
I just don’t wanna reserve it for the 360 then the Wii version ends up having MORE LEVELS or sumthing lol
I’m a Wii fan all the way
But if I had to choose one I’d have to go with 360, despite the XBOX Sonic 06 fiasco lol
Let’s all just hope & pray that the fellas over at SEGA learned from their mistakes
@KC Cross: 360, its better. But thats just me.
No offence to anyone who disagrees.
@G&E: 1st of all, everyone try to remember this is ONLY A RUMOR lol
2nd of all, I don’t know if anyone noticed, but games nowadays are using slo-mo animation
(it’s hard to explain, but if u watch a Burst Limit Trailer, then watch Sonic U Trailer, you’ll see that the animation slows down)
That takes up ALOT of the game, PLUS THE DETAIL OF THE LEVELS means that games these days can’t have alot of gameplay.
I mean SA2 for GC had alot of levels and DBZ Tenkaichi had, like 60 people
Now Burst Limit for 360/PS3 has, like, 20 people!
3rd of all, maybe the 9 or 7 levels will be split into acts or something………………….lol?
Also, remember Sonic will be able to walk around and interact with people, so that could count as a level in itself
I’m just trying to say that games these days are all about graphics.
The Wii is all about game quality. That’s why I don’t know which Sonic to buy: Wii or 360!
Someone HELP ME! lol
I am also thinking each level will have a ”night act”
And what about extra missions and bosses?
with levels it they could mean the ”worlds”
You know,like in sonic heroes.
Which had 7 real ”worlds” devided in 2 normal stages and one boss.
Hopefully this isn’t true. Games on the Wii are some of SEGA’s big sellers (M&S at the Olympics is really popular and Secret rings is still on the Wii sales chart, two years later!) Even the PS2 had some great sellers. (Sonic Heroes is in the Platinum collection, which only the most popular PS2 games get into.)
And i’ll be throwing that comment in the here for a while, so everyone can see it.
Hey anybody. I’ve made some Sonic Cursors. They’re animated, and built for loading cursors, but i guess u could make them your normal cursors. If anybody wants any, just give me your e-mail, and ill send one to you. Request either idle, running, or emerald spinning. I can also make some Shadow, or Silver, or whoever ones if u want, just ask. Thought i’d throw that into the comments.
@G&E: Hey, maybe each level will have a night level to go along with it. That just popped into my head.
How is it that Sonic Adventure 2 can have like 30 something levels, a bunch of playable characters, multiplayer, and chao gardens, but Sonic unleashed now supposedly is going to have 9-7 levels? I really hope theres at least 12. If there is 9 (360/ps3) and 7 (wii/ps2) levels then i already almost know them all.
In no perticular order…
1.Greece
2.Europe
3.Africa
4.China
5.Eygpt
6.New York
and 7.a night time level ive only seen in screen shots. That’s 7 right there.
Also why is this game even being made for the ps2?
@Xeternalstar: That whole message was like a meter.
Sonic related
Wii related
arm lard
stupidity
what?
