Remember that poll we held back in May? The one where we let the viewers declare who they DIDN’T want to see in Sonic Unleashed?
Well, nearly 1,500 votes later, we’ve decided to post results from said poll. I honestly never imagined there to be such a high turn out… such a display of hatred for some characters… but alas, I digress.
Cream pulls out on top (or bottom depending on how you look at it) with a whopping 949 votes. That’s over 64% of you who thought Cream would be the worst thing that could happen to Sonic Unleashed.
Shortly following her, we see Silver, Rogue, and Blaze each receiving over 40% (remember, multiple votes were allowed). Shadow and Amy both pulled in over 20% of the vote, with Tails and Knuckles coming close at 7 and 5% respectively.
On a side note, don’t forget to cast your vote in our Sonic Unleashed Chao Poll.

I think I voted for Cream and Amy because Cream is too sweet to be in there and Amy’s controls in Sonic Advance are crappy.
Pity Silver and Blaze got so many votes against them, though, since I wanted to know more about Silver’s background and Blaze is unique enough in her abilities to justify an appearance.
And of course Shadow ought to make at least a NPC-appearance.

why did blaze come out so high, and shadow. I really liked blaze in rush not so much in 06. And shadow is pretty cool but the whole ‘who am I’ thing is getting pretty old.

@Aregulardude: Well I think that Silver is a horrible character, but he’s still cooler than Cream. There’s really no point in having her in ANY future games. Although she’s a cool character, I believe that SEGA would want to go all out and concentrate on the cool characters 1st.

Hope werehog would win. If sonic and shadow are even then if the wolf wins it would show just how powerful, dangerous and out of control the wolf can be. If the wolf hurt shadow badly, which we all know our fav blue little mate would never do, then that would mean that sonic has no control at al over the wolf. I voted for Shadow and Silver. Silver was so intent on destroying Iblis that he ended up almost killing the good guys and the Shadow the Hedgehog game is where I started hating shadow I mean really guns? GUNS! A good Sonic game that does not make.

Remember after fight with Mephilis where Meph blasted Shadow into that pillar and he was like “ZOMG” and looked like he was going to pass out? Well Silver could have done the same thing. The reason he didn’t was because Shadow used Chaos Control! Silver didn’t even know he could use it himself so that was kind of cheap.
And the thing about Elise was Sonic was dumb enough to fight him with Elise and he was really stupid to fight the second time because he lost the first time.
So pretty much, Silver would win a rematch with ether of them, and shadow would probably win a fight against Sonic. Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of Sonic, but in that game, he was the worst.
Also Omega had to save shadow during the fight with Meph.

Actually it would be cool if Cream would be somehow related to the Chao Garden.. a guide or something, after all she’s the first character in the series to have a Chao – those things are adorable AND she would have a purpose to be in the games again.

what’s wrong with you people!!?? Shadow is durn awesome!! he shoots people!! how cool is that? In Sonic X, Sonic never won a fight against Shadow. And as 4 Silver, he probably couldn’t even beat Sonic. If you notice in the game, he always caught Sonic off guard. And don’t you think he has some sort of psychic limit. I mean you see him flipping over buses(Shadow does) or anything like that. Which means he probably can’t control Sonic for over 30 seconds.
I know this has nothing to do with what I’m talking about but I was disappointed with Mario & Sonic at the Olympics ’cause they put Blaze in there instead of Rouge. I like Blaze and all but Rouge has been in a ton more games.
TBH, Blaze is my favourite recent sonic character, and I would like to see her cameo in SU.

No offense to the fans out there. I don’t hate them in any particular pattern, etc.
Cream; could of made a good cameo, but not fully IN the game. It doesn’t suit her.
Silver on the other hand, No. his appearance would be a little dry on Sonic Unleashed, and needs a better suitable game for his type of style. But since he is already confirm not to appear, it makes sense.
Rouge. Better off when Shadow is around, or some sort of plot that would go with her, too. But really, I have no idea where she’ll fit into the category of this game being she isn’t evolved so much.
But really…I think I only voted for three, or maybe four. Blaze, I think I voted her out because it would also not make sense for her being in the script.
On my last note; Shadow would make an splendid cameo in the game, but not fully.
Still…Sonic Team is always going to find a way to make little parodies of any character, so be on the look out when the game makes it’s debut.

Besides, hating a character simply because of a gameplay gimmick that only appeared in one game and probably won’t be used…anywhere else isn’t exactly a wise choice. I mean, nobody complains when Eggman points a blaster at Amy’s head in Sonic Adventure 2 and nobody complains about Fang the Sniper, but when good ol’ emo boy punching bag Shadow the Hedgehog comes along, “omg gunz!”
Would anybody mind explaining to me why people continue to insist to complain about the aspects of Shadow’s character in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and his own game as if they still apply to him, despite the fact that he made a commitment to get over his past at the end of Shadow the Hedgehog, and that his attitude in games like Sonic ‘06, Sonic Rivals 2, and Sonic Battle remain consistent with that commitment?

Shadow used chaos control in a manner of ”now I end this fight” because that whole fight was a major misunderstanding anyway.
I think silver is a bit even with the other two hedgehogs,only he counters sonic a bit by nature because of their powers.

first of all in the PLAY magazine Sonic Unleashed Feature Silver is and so far the only character confirmed not to be in the game while Amy,Tails and Knuckles are left and with it Blaze and Shadow remain to be the last two characters that may or may not be in the game but now who do u desire more than the other Shadow or Blaze?? For anyway who wants to know, there is a knew video just appeared in the Sega FTP server for Sonic Unleashed called Pre-E3. I’m downloading it right now.
On a side note, I liked Silver and Blaze for their differences from the other characters. I voted on Cream and Rouge because they seemed to not fit in quite as well.
Finished downloading the video. It doesn’t have any game play footage or anything of the sort, but it does leave the hope I had that Sonic might not be quite as innocent when he is changed. The only thing is that the game couldn’t be rated “E for everyone” if Sonic went rampant like I hope he does.

I will post now that, I like all da Hedgehogs. I know that Shadow has great hand eye coordination, knows how to drive vehicles, can flip buses with one hand, can use chaos control and other abilities, and with out his rings, can blow out a whole army of mephs.
But this is the thing that many seem to not understand. Shadow is the strongest, but is not the best. Sonic could easily catch them by surprise with his speed(Yeah I know not much on Sonic).

Sonic is probably the favorite of most Sonic fans.
My favorites are Silver/Tails tied for first, Sonic second, Shadow/Amy for third, and Big last.
I never voted in the poll, but I would have to say that Silver/Blaze would be the last to join Unleashed. I just wish that they would make Tails less ghey and more like he was in Adventure 2. In all the new games he seems to be acting younger and gheyer. I always use Tails when I use the chao garden in SA2B.

Now, sonic is just like he used to be, but shadow is now “The COOL GUY” with all these awesome powers and super strength, is INVINCIBLE, AND is pretty fast. which makes him virtually unstoppable.
But what I am confused about now is; is shadow even an anti-hero anymore or is he a just plain hero like everyone else?

Shadow is netural, Silver has ’special’ powers, and Sonic is guy that speeds to them and scorches them if he uses Choas Control then run at his fastest.
@Spittingup: Sega has left us a little confused in character positions. And i’m not sure if shadow i anti-hero. I think i would like him better though if he still has a dark streak in him. For example he may not be to concerned about harming a few civilians if they get in his way of completing a mission or something. That would be pretty cool to see one of the heroes argueing with him over that.

I too have always wished that they kept Shadow as a villain instead of an “anti-hero”. I always liked his character design. He was such a great villain in SA2. Tricking the doctor to gather the emeralds for the eclipse cannon when he really knew that the colony was programed to plunge to earth once all the emeralds were collected to get revenge on the humans for maria. So evil! But then he had to remember what he really promised Maria, when Amy triggered that memory. And he just hasn’t been the same. Though he was pretty evil in his own game. Still don’t think he needed guns.
Anyway, I’m rambling…I voted for Cream. She’s just too childish for this game, in my opinion. My favorite character is Sonic and Metal Sonic is a very close second. Knuckles is third, Tails and Amy tie for fourth. Shadow is also one of my favorites. Those are the only characters I’d like to see in Unleashed. and ofcourse its not a Sonic game without Eggman.
I wonder who the big bad boss will be. I really liked metal sonic and mephilis. Or maybe the new baddie character will be the werehog. That would b cool

Can I just say that Cream is not a terrible character. Neither are Silver or Jet, for that matter. None of them are terrible as characters – it’s the programming (and, in Jet’s case, the genre) of their games that people dislike and that somehow spreads onto the characters in it. I mean, Jesus Christ, people. I’ve heard death threats against these guys. Death threats against FICTIONAL CHARACTERS.
Cream woud just not be FITTING for this game. That’s her only problem. Come to think of it, Rouge, Blaze and Shadow are actually perfect alternatives to Amy, Knuckles and Tails, considering the game’s mood is meant to be dark and crazy. And has nobody noticed that Shadow has actually quit whining about Maria? He got over it. Why don’t any of you?
This Alexa Woods lady also doesn’t sound like a Sonic character, but more like a fan-character or a self-insert. The fact that she hasn’t been shown or mentioned once and yet some strange person unrelated to SEGA has just announced her out of the blue is a bit fishy.
Huh, fish. On a related note to that, they managed to get Big into SatSR by making cameos on side-quests, in long-overdue response to the cameos missing from SA2:B. That happened to be a rather popular move. They just might do it again.

Oh, and about the poll, I actually think that, if done right, Cream could be an interesting adition to the Sonic Unleashed roster for the very reasons you guys think she shouldn’t be in the game. Kind, polite, gentle Cream… being protected or in someway connecting or contacting with Sonic in his Werewolf form. IF DONE RIGHT, I think Cream would be a nice wildcard character to throw in the mix.

Yes, I loved Big’s cameos in those games, and I’d love to see them again. Because, well, while people may not like playing as him, they sure do like to see what sort of wacky hijinx he has gotten himself into. (Can Froggy come with him this time too?)

Honestly, he isn’t THAT stupid to sit on his best friend. D’: The only issue I have with Big is the voice acting. He isn’t exactly the brightest bulb in the socket, but he isn’t a freakin’ ****** either; so why make him SOUND that way? You know that Shadow says more than just “MARIA”? Big says more than “FROGGY, WHERE ARE YOU?”…with a voice like that, it only adds more emphasis to the times that he does say it. D’: I can only hope that Bioware’s portayal of Big in Sonic Chronicles (slightly smarter, with a big heart) inspires Sonic Team to…ahem…portray Big that way in any other regular Sonic games.

shadow would be good in the game but people have to drop the guns thing he hasn’t used em since ShTH. and i reckon vehicles are alright it separates his game play from sonics.
