Top 10 Sonic Unleashed Questions For E3

Despite the leaks constantly dripping out new Sonic Unleashed details, there are many aspects of the next-gen title that remain shrouded in mystery.  However, we’re in high hopes to see many of our questions answered during E3.  Here are just a few of the things we’d like to learn before the end of the week:

  1. What characters will be in Sonic Unleashed?  Who’s returning? Who’s out?
  2. Aside from Sonic, what characters will be playable, and in what manner will they be able to be played (Mini-games, unlockables, etc).
  3. We’ve heard multiplayer is out of the question (although new rumors seem to indicate otherwise), but will there be other Online features, such as Leaderboards or Downloadable Content?
  4. How does Weresonic actually play?  Video Footage is something we’re all dying to see.
  5. Will there be Chao Gardens?
  6. We’ve seen several retailers put out a release date for Sonic Unleashed.  Is SEGA set on a date, or is this all pure speculation?
  7. What levels are in Sonic Unleashed?  We’ve seen or heard of several stages such as China, New York, Europe, but know there are still a few we haven’t had confirmed.
  8. How long is a typical level? Are the areas/levels split into several stages like the classic Sonic games?
  9. Photos of a dragon-like character appeared a while back.  Is this the beast that was awakened at the center of the Earth?
  10. Will there be any sort of collectible items in Sonic Unleashed, such as collecting 50 Rings that help unlock bonus stages?

We’ll keep you updated here on Camp Sonic as we discover the answers to these questions, and hopefully many more during E3 2008!

this is proof chao will probally be in the game. i was looking at the credits to sonic adventure 2 battle and i saw Hashimotto was the main producer of the chao garden! he’s the lead game disigner or whatever for this game so yes chao will probally be in the game.

What happened? It looks like the trailer article and the screenshot article are gone.

Can’t say I’m entirely sold on the were-hog gameplay (anyone else find it a bit anti-climactic when they finally showed footage of it)?, and the song done by the Bowling for Soup guy is truly awful (I can’t STAND his voice, so annoying and nasally <_<)

Apart from that though, the game is looking gorgeous! The China level in particular looks great. I really hope this game doesn’t disappoint, I’m getting the same sort of excitement I had when the first screens of Sonic Adventure were released. Don’t let us down Sega!!

Hmm… it’s not there anymore. Earlier the word “games” in number 8 was highlighted in green, and when I put my mouse over it it popped up with an ad for some Hellboy video game. Never seen anything like that before…

@David Leggett: If you watch that video you can see the RPG elements in it. How you completely stop moving, and completely just start killing stuff. Just amazing purely amazing. It also contained him carrying something, and putting it down, like a puzzle in the Zelda games.

Werehog footage at last, plus footage of the China level and the game’s theme song, “Endless Possibility”.

    “Finally, something interesting.”
