I literally went estatic when I saw this. I’m really hyper now, damn.
Call me impressed…the WereSonic footage looks like it’s for more combat heavy gameplay and puzzle solving. It still looks like a Sonic game…it kind of resembles what I’d expect if Knuckles got his own 3D game. Also, notice the button presses after the jump? Are these for tricks/bonus points?

During the Weresonic gameplay i noticed 2 bars in bottom left corner. One says “Shield” and the other “Vitality”.
It looks like Weresonic has a life bar instead of rings.

I’m a little upset about the soundtrack for this game, it needs Jun, the song they play in this is so….cliche.
But overall the game looks amazing, and it’s clear that Sonic is designed to look more like the 2d Sonic, just look at his facial expressions.
If this game doesn’t satisfy the purists Imma be pissed.

Words cannot describe how happy I am.
The only thing that would’ve brought this game closer to Genesis would’ve been lyric-less theme and no speech from Eggyman.
But I will DEFINITELY over-look those two problems as the Theme song is catchy as hell. and Eggyman looks like he isn’t all about Comedy Relief anymore, so I’m glad.
And, WERE-SONIC!~ Ho Mah F’in Lawd! That Transformation was intense. That definitely took away my theory that Were Sonic and Sonic are two different beings, but it’s also confusing, Super Sonic at the end is shown flying away from the base, so, does that mean Sonic Turns into a were-wolf, bashes the **** outta everything, then he returns normal, goes super, and flies away? Or did they just show us part of the END of the game?! xD

I think this clears up once and for all that the Werehog aspect of Unleashed will be just as good as the sonic gameplay
Im sure many of you noticed how Sonic’s designed is revamped, subtly, to resemble his genesis era design. I also noticed that not only has the checkpoints from Sonic Adventure make a return, but they also seem remodled to resemble the genesis era lamp posts as well.
I’m still on the fence about the music though.

All I can say is, other than it was a nice update, still… Good GOD did I hate that song. They were too off key and annoying.. it made my happiness from ecstatic to zero… DX I’m way too into music and such to be able to handle the horribleness of some of those vocals… -flail-
Other than that song great game footage. (The video’s song… I seriously hope it is not the main theme for the game. Why? Because it doesn’t really seem to fit what I thought of the game’s theme having… I’d prefer something a -little- heavier then that. His World, as horrible as that was, was better than this new song.)

Can’t say I’m entirely sold on the were-hog gameplay (anyone else find it a bit anti-climactic when they finally showed footage of it)?, and the song done by the Bowling for Soup guy is truly awful (I can’t STAND his voice, so annoying and nasally <_<)
Apart from that though, the game is looking gorgeous! The China level in particular looks great. I really hope this game doesn’t disappoint, I’m getting the same sort of excitement I had when the first screens of Sonic Adventure were released. Don’t let us down Sega!!

Yo, if the song features Jaret from Bowling for Soup…then who DOES do the song, eh? I can’t help but think that I’ve heard it before… Admittedly, I’d prefer for Jaret to do the song, since his voice is a bit deeper and some people are a bit annoyed with the voice of whoever singing now…but then again, whoever sings most of the song’s voice contrasts with what I assume is Jaret’s part (when werehog comes out…), so that would end up being lost. Hey, that’s what we’ll have the vocal traxx soundtrack for?
It reminds me of “A New Venture” in some ways…I doubt it’s the main theme song, it’s probably the THEME of SONIC.

To me it looks like Sega made Sonic’s levels like the classic Sonic games, and WereSonic is more like the new Sonic Games but with more of a Knuckles feel.

Hmm, well, my opinion is differing from most people about the song. I think that OCRemix peeps are working on a Street Fighter remake…and well, remixes aren’t exactly necessary for this kind of game.
I wouldn’t mind Crush 40 (in an oldschool tone) or Ted Poley doing it (even though people would end up thinking it would be even more annoying with him in it)…
Seeing as the song has a pop-punk vibe, I would love to hear Simple Plan, SUM 41, Yellowcard, or Fall Out Boy in place of whoever sings it. (Admittedly, I’m biast towards Fall Out Boy doing it…if Patrick Stump’s voice WAS the voice other than Jaret singing, with that on top on every other thing in the trailer, I’d…like…die. O___O ) …Yellowcard’s version would have some awesome violin madness in it, which is always a plus~

I KNOW I’ve heard the guy who does the lead vocals from somewhere…he sounds like the lead singer from the band, Knockout. Compare Endless Possiblities with Knockout’s “Breakaway” and the vox are so similar, it’s…similar.

The song’s title is Endless Possibilties, I dunno who’s singing, but people round here are saying it’s Bowling for soup or somethin’.
Personally, I wasn’t all into that song, as I said above. Yes, it’s colorful for the sonic levels, and it got heavy when Were-sonic came out, but I would like something more along the lines of SatSR feel (Not the arabian feel, the Heavy metal Feel).
For my bands, I’d love to hear System of a Down, Apocalyptica, even Avenged Sevenfold or Disturbed. They could all bring something unique to it. Apocalyptica is known for there heavy-Cello music, and with the added drummer, they could probably make something awesome. As for SoaD, their vocalist is crazy as they come, and they’re pretty hardcore when they need to be.
A7X and Disturbed probably couldn’t do much as far as Sonic’s theme or a Main theme, but they could definitely make something for Weresonic. Everytime I see were-sonic gameplay or screenshots, all I hear playing is “Indestructible”.
Maybe MSI could do the Main theme xD

When the trailer went into four way split screen, did you see the machines that looked sort of like bosses and the cutscene with Weresonic being dumped out into space through the air lock…whoa. Just, whoa.

That was great! I loved the cinemetic, but I really wanted to see some wii gameplay, and the music was weird.

TSS just said the WereSonic sections looked like a mediocre brawler and they’re not sure they like it. Why? It’s not fast! I really don’t get why EVERYTHING in a Sonic game has to be blazing fast.I kind of like the concept from what little I see…it’s hard to be negative unless you’re cynical. We don’t have enough info. We saw him fight some enemies, jump a roof…and grab a key. Wow. lol I think it looks promising, though.
And yeah…I don’t care about reviews. Gaming media today has no credibility to me at all. I’ll just buy it, I’ve actually liked all the mainline Sonic titles.
Let me clarify one thing - just because we (TSS) said we weren’t sure about it doesn’t mean to say we hate it. We’re just being cautiously optimistic. No, Sonic’s not all about speed - if you read our website on a regular basis you’d know that’s not what we collectively believe.
It’s a totally new direction for Sonic and that is why we’re being a bit pensive. Maybe this is what Sonic needs, maybe it’ll make enjoying the game a bit worse. Who knows until we’ve all played it, right?
Overall, we really like how the game’s shaping up, please don’t take one little line we’ve said and apply it to our feelings of the game in general, because you’re going to get out-of-context results and you’re going to look silly. ^_^;
Anyway, let’s keep an eye on this one! Swinging around the poles like Ristar look pretty cool.

That was AMAZING! Therewas alot of neat new information in the part where they split up the screen also. I was what looked like some boss or miniboss fights, some cinematic sceens of werewolf sonic falling back to earth, more werewolf gameplay, including him walking on a narrow ledge, and some great new gameplay of normall sonic that I hadn’t seen before that looks very good.
I was worried a bit that it the stages would go a bit too fast rom the trailer, but after looking through the ending part with the 4 scenes, it looks like there will be some slightly slower parts, letting you take things in a bit more, and actually think about what you do instead of just flying through the stage.
This game will so rock, of that I am very sure now. =D
Everytime a new video comes out makes the game look even more awesome!! I can’t wait! I’ma get it when it comes out whether I have a 360 yet or not. I might just have to befriend someone to play it! lol.

Hey admin have you noticed that they added lasers to the scene. Back when Sonic Unleashed was hacked they had pics of the same scene but there was no lasers. Also Sonic was supersonic when he was first mutated in to Weresonic and there was eggman right next to him.

I was paraphrasing their objection(which I find fair, btw) and then going off on a tangeant of my own about how some people seem to want only speed in Sonic platformers and it frustrates me. That’s what I get for typing after getting so little rest the last few days. I apoligize if what I said sounded offbase. The last thing I want to do is sound like the people that annoy me. No doubt. I’ve been a fan since day one…of Sega as a whole. I’m just dissapointed with my self. I guess when you write professionally, you assume everything you write will come out as intended. It’s like the athlete who doesn’t pay attention because he’s always succeeded by accident.
Incidentally, I really haven’t seen a lot of negative reaction aside from “Well, Sega screwed up everything else so they’ll screw this up too”.

We were all won over by the enviornments. I downloaded the Hi res trailer and I’ve been watching it non-stop ever since. I’m also a sucker for Segas cg work. It’s right up there with Pixar and Dreamworks.
Sonic’s not back to his genesis roots, but he is back to what he was originally intended to be. Which is a very big deal.

Think the werewolf parts are for EXPANDING the game? Think of it… Sonic Adventure had adventure fields… to make it seem longer (10 5 minute stages…) Sonic Adventure 2… had treasure hunting…
I think that Sonic’s gameplay in general would lead to a very short game. A short game is acceptable in 2d… but in 3d… they “add” stuff to make it seem longer. This is probably why in “Secret Rings,” you replayed levels… and in Sonic Heroes… forced teamwork..
The werewolf sections just seems like another way to make the game longer… in Sonic games… when your task is simply to “run to the end,” it may be hard to make it long.
Here is what i think of the werewolf parts…
In most Sonic games, there is a “boss mode,” right? Perhaps… in this Sonic game there could be a “Sonic mode” that is unlocked after you beat the game.
In “Sonic mode” you play exclusively Sonic parts… in “Werehog mode” exclusively… werehog parts.
This has made me a very happy man!

Finally something about Dr Eggman. He looks more selfish than ever. And that Sonic transformation to Werehog was little bit creepy.
And there was something new Eggmans Space station. SEGA, PLEASE! TAKE DEATH EGG BACK TO THE SONIC GAMES!
But still, great Sonic game is coming.

The cutscenes are for all consoles. The game play is for 360/PS3.
Seriously, the high quality video it’s awesome. The bad thing is that I’m getting hyped, seeing those amazing graphics and speed; and then I will be hugely dissapointed with the Wii version (the only one I’ll be able to get :S)

I hope the wii verson looks like that… the only thing i heard different about the ps3/xbox360 andwii/ps2 is that dimps is making the morning stages for wii/ps2. And wii/ps2 will not have the hedgehog engine.

it looks really brilliant. But one thing that’s confused me, in other cases of Sonic games or T.V programmes, Sonic always became Dark Super Sonic with the Negative Energy of the Emeralds. So why are they saying he becomes a Werehog instead of Dark Super Sonic?
@Sonic #1 Fan: In Sonic Unleashed, the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds transform him into a Were-Sonic.
On “Sonic X” when his friends were in danger that triggered the negative energy he had inside of him when he was zapped by the Chaos Emeralds in the beginning (Archie Comics). When that happened, Sonic became infused with good power (Super Sonic) and bad power (Dark Super Sonic). How he releases the energies are just different.
If you ask me, I think Sonic Unleashed will reveal never-before-released Sonic history.
We can only wait.
