Some folks over at TSS have done the Sonic community a favor and ripped the track from the latest Sonic Unleashed E3 Trailer. Now you can take the track with you wherever you are (if that’s your kind of thing).

Something about this track really doesn’t settle well with me. The first few songs we’ve heard from Sonic Unleashed have been great, but this new step seems to be like we’re heading back in the direction we came from - the direction that actually makes some of us very angry.
You wouldn’t like us when we’re angry…
Thanks to Sheza and Goku from TSS! I’m sure plenty of people here will enjoy the music from what I’ve seen in the discussions.
Oh, and here are the lyrics as posted by Twilight over at TSS:
This is my escape.
I’m running through this world,
and I’m not looking back.‘cuz I know I can go,
where no one’s ever gone
and I’m not looking backBut how will I know when I get there?
And how will I know when to leave?
We’ve all gotta start from somewhere?
It’s like that for me!
the possibilities are never endingI see it. I see it. And now it’s |always in my dreams|
(endless possibilities)
I see it. I see it now. It’s always been inside of me
And now I feel so free.
(endless possibilities)you’re loosing speed!
You’re loosing your flow!
|Where is that| piece of power you’ll never know!
Just let it out, It’s inside you.
Better all stand back,
‘cuz I’m coming throughI see it. I see it. And now it’s |always in my dreams|
(endless possibilities)
I see it. I see it now. It’s always been inside of me
And now I feel so free.
(endless possibility)

I don’t see what’s so bad about the song.
Aside from the fact that SEGA songs are getting pretty shorter, it’s an okay song.
A song for Sonic needs to be up beat and the lyrics have to fit his personality and actions. This song will definitely fit Sonic’s theme. “This is my escape. I’m running through this world, and I’m not looking back. ‘cuz I know I can go, where no one’s ever gone and I’m not looking back”, that sounds a lot like Sonic. He never looks back when he’s escaping from danger and can make it to places others can’t go. Bowling For Soup has some great songs that I listen to a lot. I also listen to Crush 40’s music as well. There’s even more good songs that the team used for Sonic games. The only game that displeased me most was Sonic Heroes. The songs sounded bad in my opinion. I just hope they use more great songs from Crush 40 or from any other bands.
well I did like the song “Sonic Boom”
Just out of curiosity, for all the people who claim not to like this guy’s voice (I’m assuming many of you also felt the same about Zebrahead), what kind of voice do you think OUGHT to be used - assuming you had to choose vocal over instrumental- to define our beloved Hedgehog?
Crush 40 is great, and I love them to death, but imo they never really had much of a “Sonic” feel to them. Their music is a little too heavy and aggressive for someone lighthearted and quick on his feet, y’know? 80s rock just isn’t very Sonic. I think light, upbeat, pop punk rock is exactly the way to go, and whether I like this guy’s voice on a musical level, I think it FITS extremely well.
So I open up this question to everyone: What type of singer/vocalist do YOU think would best represent Sonic? Perhaps something more like the girly diva vocals of Sonic R/Sonic CD ( love those)?
I checked out the guy who sung it, and the last album he released was called “I’m ***” :p
Yeah, the instrumental rules, the lyrics are okay, but the voice.. ugh it’s just so annoying.
Sorry, I just can’t get over it D=
It’s just.. I hear that kind of voice in many songs and I was hoping a little better for the Sonic game that’s supposed to reinvent the series.
-remembers to not nag anymore-
@ChaoticFox: yeah i cant stop listening to this song at first i thought it didnt go but it has a very nice tune too it i think it sounds great as the main theme of the game. whoever doesnt like it guys just give it time and you’ll like it in no time actually it’ll get stuck in your head
Dear God… I… CAN’T… STOP…. @_@;;
I’ve spent the last three hours straight listening to this on repeat. But why?? XD
whoops, didn’t see that comment above my last one. But helps prove that that’s what it says. heheh.
I’m pretty sure one part of these lyrics are wrong. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t say this:
I see it. I see it. And now it’s (((((always in my dreams)))))
(endless possibilities)
I see it. I see it now. It’s always been inside of me
And now I feel so free.
(endless possibilities)
I’m pretty sure it actually is this:
I see it. I see it. And now it’s (((((((all within my reach))))))
(endless possibilities)
I see it. I see it now. It’s always been inside of me
And now I feel so free.
(endless possibility)
I personally like it! It grew on me.
My opinion on the questionable lyrics:
I see it. I see it. And now it’s all within my reach!
Well inside me’s a power you’ll never know!
I don’t see why everyone’s bitching about the song. I like it!! Sure, the voice is annoying as hell, but the feel of it reminds me of the vocal songs in Sonic Adventure 2, like City Escape.
I actually like it. It’s fast paced. It metaphorical to the concept of the game. I could really get into using it to play. It’s very Sonic-y
@Hype92: Well, it does describe Sonic and his attitude towards the world and his own freedom. “In his world, life’s an open book”, remember? He’ll go anywhere, he’ll do anything, and nobody is going to stop him, especially not a talking egg!
BY THE WAY, LIVE DEMO OF SONIC UNLEASHED AND SONIC CHRONICLES IS ON SOON.

THANKS BE TO GAMESPOT!
The song seems fitting for a Sonic game for some reason.
@DarkChaos: And I agree with your agreement!
There is an underwater style level in Sonic Advance 3 and an underwater level in Sonic Rush…it would be interesting, but those levels tend to be the bane of people.
On one hand, it’d be awesome to have a level in Atlantis…but on the other hand, who likes the smell of wet Werehog? XD
@Hannah the Echidna: I agree with you that people should stop trying to find something to be concerned about. I am not going for anyone in particular and I have been wanting to say the same thing for quite some time. All the Sonic games had a special charm to them. Even the ‘06 Sonic game had some good points. I do get tired of people saying it isn’t like the old Sonic and therefore it’s junk. I only personally hope to see an underwater level again. Those disappeared with the 2D games and I miss them. I don’t hate the games for not having them though. Back on topic though, I personally think the song isn’t that bad. I don’t think it’s my favorite, but I don’t mind it a bit.
@doc a doc: It seems as though they’re attempting to merge the two, just as they have done with the old and new styles of gameplay. Could possibly be a very beautiful fusion
Darn for a moment I thought they were truly going back to the catchy jingles of old and not the annoying lyrics of new.
^^ I really like this song. I think it really fits Sonic’s personality and speed.
