Update: You can now watch the full 25 minute demonstration of Sonic Unleashed.

Alright, it’s over now, but hopefully you caught wind of it and were able to watch a bit. If not no worries, as we’ll likely have a video for download really soon.

Lot’s of new things revealed, so if you’d just like a summary of what was shown, have at it!

  • Sonic the Werehog’s Controls were unveiled:
    Sonic the Werehogs Controls
  • Hold down a bumper to make Sonic the Werehog get down on all fours and run.
  • There are charge attacks if you hold attack down (like rapid punching it seems).
  • They totally said Dr Robotnik instead of Eggman.  Will it stick?  We can only hope.
  • Shadow will be in Sonic Unleashed.
  • Still focusing almost entirely on Sonic though.
  • Ring’s replenish Vitality, which functions like a Health bar.
  • The purple orbs discussed in our Werehog impressions seem to increase your shield, which is used up when Sonic puts up his fists to block attacks.
  • There will be an online component in Sonic Unleashed.
  • If you miss a jump as the Werehog, you can stretch out your arms to grab the ledge.  Jumps are much more forgiving this way while in this form.
  • You are really strong.  You actually just LIFT the doors rather than walking through them sometimes.
  • Each area will have a daytime and nighttime component to it.
  • There will be plenty to explore, and lots of hidden items.
  • The music will be “energetic” and “enthusiastic” during the day, while “twilightish” during the night.
  • The Controls feel very good (they actually got to play part of the Mykonos, Greece nighttime segment.
  • They’re still looking into the 50 rings for a bonus stage element.
  • Played on the 360.
  • Werehog cannot swim.

I’m impressed with what I saw.  Hopefully they make this available for download real soon. Post updated with link to video.
