In case you missed the live Sonic Unleashed footage we covered earlier, Shadow has now been a confirmed character for Sonic Unleashed. During a live hands-on demonstration, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow we’re all confirmed to be in the game, although no mention of how they would be implemented was discussed.
I’m a bit worried about this choice, but I’m sure Shadow fans everywhere are rejoicing. So long as he doesn’t have guns in this installment… and doesn’t act all *gangsta* or any of that crap, I’d say there’s still a chance he’ll make a good addition to the game.

I like Shadow a lot , actually. I even liked his game….I just hope for the ability to replay levels as other levels. Like how you could replay stages as Blaze or Tails or whatever in Sonic ‘06.
I loathe Shadow, but not necessarily because of his ridiculous gun-toting escapades. I hate him for all that he is and all he represents XD
Shadow the Hedgehog is essentially nothing more than a second generation Sonic. An “update” to a classic, if you will. He is nothing more than a suped up version of the original hedgehog, targeted at today’s audience. And what do we like? No longer are speed, heroics and attitude enough to be “cool”. Now you need to be big, bad, and all-powerful. You’ve got to be dark, mysterious, and angtsy too… in addition to being able to do just about everything Sonic can. Sure, why not?
As a die-hard fan of Sonic Classic, and an all-out worshipper of the Blue Blur himself, I cannot help but feel betrayed. I don’t know or care so much about how this relates to Unleashed, perhaps Shadow will somehow be relevant to the plot and I’m certainly not one to say that he will somehow ruin the entire game with his presence… However, my hatred for him is almost unequivocal. I don’t need a replacement Sonic, let the next-gen fans - you know the kind… the ones who put Shadow on a pedestal and think SA2:B is the greatest game of all time - have him. My only hope is that as Sonic Team begins to turn back toward their roots that they will eventually phase him out of existence, just like other (much more loveable) characters like Big XD

In the classic games, there was no Amy either.
Don’t forget, Sonic CD was very rare. Most people first knew about Amy in either Sonic R, or Sonic Adventure 1.

Hey, David… I know you aren’t a Shadow fan… but I think you’ll change your mind, because Sega may license several 50-Cent songs for Shadow. Shadow also has a new move called the “You Can’t See Me.”

HAH! Alright! Someone that likes Shadow more than Sonic! I cannot pick a favorite (its like Goku and Vegeta)… but Shadow seems capable of actually replaying Sonic’s levels as an alternative… he has the speed after all.

So now we have Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow. Thats all the charecters? So that Alexa Woods thing was fake after all. It was on Wikipedia for two days and then taken off, and then it showed up on ign a couple weeks later. Do you know anything about it?
I like the role of Shadow in sonic adventure 2, in that game, shadow is more hostil and evil, and he call sonic “fake o blue hedgehog”, after the years, shadow go to more “hero side”, and in sonic 06, shadow work for the goberment ¿?…
if shadow apears here, i will like, if Sega, gives to shadow, a cruelest role this time..

Maybe if there really is an online play, you get to pick between different characters. Of course, they would all have the same physics as sonic though to make it fair. (Like tails won’t be able to fly etc.)
They’ve already said other characters are part of the storyline or playable through minigames…anyway, this was a given. He’s too popular to leave out.
