E3 Roundup for July 16th
Another busy day at E3 comes and goes, and leaves our cravings for Sonic Unleashed details mostly satisfied. We’re not quite through with E3 yet, but we’re really glad to see SEGA coming forward with all this new information. For me at least, it’s a sign that things are moving along nicely, and that we have a chance of seeing a finely tuned game come November 2008.
Anyways, here’s a quick roundup from Wednesday just in case you missed anything.
- Sonic the Werehog: Our First Impressions – Chances are, Sonic the Werehog will make (or break) Sonic Unleashed. Check out our initial impressions of the hedgehogs counterpart in the upcoming title.
- Live Coverage and Gameplay of Sonic Unleashed at E3 – We dissect how the Sonic Unleashed plays LIVE during an interview demonstration with Gamespot and SoA’s Ken Balough.
- 25+ Minutes of Game Demonstration – Catch our coverage of the live game demonstration, but miss the actual video? Gamespot has now made it available to the public in a high quality format.
- Shadow Confirmed to appear in Sonic Unleashed – Many will be ecstatic, while many others will riot in angst. Sure to cause some fighting in the Sonic community, but regardless, Shadow will be appearing in Sonic Unleashed.
- Online Mode in Sonic Unleashed - No details on what it is, but the official word is that Sonic Unleashed will feature an online component.
- Sonic Unleashed E3 Trailer Alternate Downloads - Not able to grab the HD E3 Sonic Unleashed Trailer revealed a few days ago? We’ve put together a short list of links that work, and will have you downloading in no time – with the help of the greater Sonic Community.

and I think they gave Sonic LONG arms because that’s the funnest kind of combat (Fighting like God of War 1 & 2)
The kind that throws a whole bunch of little enemies that you can just TEAR UP & every hit counts. You get 100 HIT COMBOS WHEREVER YOU ARE! I don’t know about you guys, but that makes ME feel good about myself. lol
I wuz tired of that whole “Eggman-makes-a-million-machines-that-die-when-you-jump-on-their-heads” Deal.
Now the fighting will at least make sense.

Anyway,I just gave a small call back there that sega has picked the most popular fandom name,wherehog.
So I suposse we should call him that way now.
Ay, people, you don’t spell Werehog with an h like you’re spelling where! Anyway, I think they’ll do a good job puting Shadow into this game. Remember, SEGA of America created Shadow the Hedgehog, this game is being done by SEGA of Japan. In my opinion, Shadow was redeemed in Sonic 06.
Sonic 06 was the only disgraceful sonic game on earth!
@Darkspines: Yeah, but at least Shadow didn’t have any guns, that was my point! Besides, I’ve never played it, so I can’t critique it.

@gabeking54: I just got word on that actually. We’ll be listening to SEGA sometime this afternoon (before 4PM Pacific time, when E3 will be coming to an end). According to our writer there, it doesn’t look like recording will be allowed, and it also seems like it won’t be much of a question/answer session.
That said, we’re still scheduled to have a writeup of anything SEGA does show us following the showing. I’m guessing that we won’t see a whole lot more than what we’ve already been shown, but who knows. Regardless, E3 has definitely been one heck of a Sonic Unleashed experience.
I don’t like how they said nothing about any online stuff for the Wii version. They need to step it up for the Wii version since there is so much potential (much better graphics, online play), but I’m afraid they will drag it down to PS2’s level.
Sonic Unleashed is going to be so freaking awesome! I can barely keep my socks on! The computer graphics in the game are truly beautiful. I love the idea that Sonic can turn into the werehog at night and I find it kind of creepy at the same time. I wonder what Amy will think of him. I guess we’ll have to see when the game comes out :D

omg this is like so cool. shadow is comfirmed and then online play can this game get any better…i think not.omg when i get this game im gonna get 2 copies 1 to play and the other to worship
the wii will be awesome! but i ask, where do you get the idea that the wii cant handle next-gen graphics, nintendo nevr said anything bout that ppl use ur brains!! seriously btw im still writing from my wii!XD
