GameTrailers interviews Patrick Riley
While it may not be terribly full of new details, GameTrailers.com has interviewed Patrick Riley in what I found to be a pretty good summary of a lot of things we learned at E3. Might be worth a watch if you’re just looking for a fast way to catch up with some of the basic things discussed over in California this week.
Thanks to Rox for the heads up!

yes the 6th coment
nice interview.
I am actually very worried the wherehog gameplay..
Is it deep enough?
booyah! 7th comment… im watching this as i type
Didn’t the Wii version also support the Cube-controller?
If Sega screws up the motion controls, I’ll revert to that then. :)
I thought that the Wii was going to use Nunchuk and Remote? Anyone else remember hearing that?
@jorenmartijn: O YEA GOOD POINT!
maybe when the wii motion sux like it did for SONIC RIDERS ZG
WE CAN USE THE GC CONTROLLER FOR SONIC UNLEASHED FOR THE WII!!!!!!!!!!
WHICH SHOULD I RESERVE THE XBOX OR WII VERSION!!!!!!!!!!?????????????
@jorenmartijn: The Wii version wisely supports BOTH methods of gameplay.
Dang, there’s nothing really new here. I still want to know about chao!
when is the interview with camp sonic coming (ne chao info?)
@gabeking54: Coming soon. It was a long day for David and the dude who got the write up for us, so they put it off, but it will be coming out.
@ChaoticFox: …HECK. YES.
@KC Cross: Has your brain turned to mush, sir and/or ma’am? ;__;
Because if your brain was in solid form, you’d come to the realization that RESERVING BOTH is a ridiculously awesome idea if you have the money.
(Lucky you. I’m probably going to rent them THEN get them if I find they’re worth giving money to SEGA. Better safe than sorry~)
@KC Cross:
Xbox. The 360 version runs on the hedgehog engine and of course awsome graphics.
I’m not worried about this werehog game play. Looks fun to me.
You know. Climbing sving anf fun stuff like that. And that combat thing. Hmmm, I don’t think it’s a problem, not to much voilence whats the problem.
me too im worried which werehog gameplay im dont want it can we played in wii or ps2 please sega dont quit the werehog gameplay on any sonic unleashed versions
Werehog gameplay = Ristar with fur.
You can relax now.
I am so pumped for this game, I just hope that the werehog stages are big open environments.
@Mike: I’M SO GLAD I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS THAT!! -high five-
Absolutely nothing new.
demo, wii??
I love how he almost (appears to say) “loses his humanity” and then stops himself… “Wait, he’s a hedgehog…” XD
srzg is a great game dont diss it!!! >=(
I would say the 360 would b the wyse perchase of the two. on the ofher hand if i were u i would get both since the sonic levels r different
David Legget, have you keeping an eye on the Japanese Sonic Unleashed website, Sonic World Adventure?
http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicWorldAdventure/
There are some screen shots you have not posted from the JP website. And I found 4 pics of Mykonos with a sunset. Would you like me to give you link to them?
Guys, why worry much about the werehog gameplay? Just think of it as a build up until Sonic’s next level.
Unlike Sonic Adventure 2, the stages may be bigger and longer… it’s not like you are going through an entire story mode with just 4 short speed stages… or 6. And directly after Werehog, you get Sonic!
Let’s see when the game arrives.
@dog@bird.net:
yeah,you are right.
Even as the wherehog is a pain in the end,it makes the setting orginal,and if normal sonic plays epic at least in 3d ,it does’t matter at all for sonic fans.Who cares about reviews and reception?
@BanoX93: Yup, we actually have all the screenshots (new) posted in our gallery:
http://www.campsonic.com/sonic-unleashed-screenshots-from-the-official-japanese-site
I’m holding off on posting about it until Tomorrow morning so people don’t miss another post we’ll have up shortly.
@BanoX93:
So that name rumor for “Sonic World Adventure” was true.
I love how the PS3 logo is so big and out there. Japan haet Xbox. XD
@David Leggett: I have other ones of Mykonos.
@David Leggett: Would you like me to send them to you in an email?
I thought you were having an interview with Sega? Was it cancelled?
@dragonite:
Dragonite, what I mean is… in the end… we’ll have a whole bunch of Sonic levels… maybe even more so than Sonic Adventure 2.
When you replay the game, you can skip the werehog levels if you want (maybe we’ll get an option after beating the game) So… think of the Werehog levels… as “waiting in line” to get 1 million dollars. 1 million dollars= Sonic levels.
@BanoX93: Sure!
@Link451: Soon. Promise.
@dog@bird.net:
I knew what you meant,I typed it confusing,sorry.
in the last generation,sonic was still fun,but did;t really went with 3-d to well,and sega was infected with fatal gimmickyritia.
In sonic next gen,sonic gameplay was not really good,and the gimmickyritia went on.
Now sonic team still suffres from gimmickyritia,but sonic’s gameplay is looking awesome.
Aside from the sonic gameplay,I always liked the many other way to play in the diverse sonic universe,even if the execution did’t really was that good.
They got a fair share of varying concepts now,so I hope they will try to streamline what already is used,aside from restoring sonic to greatness.
Dragonite, your abilities of observation are impressive.
I just have one question. Do you think that… after you beat the game, there’ll be a mode to play as Sonic alone… or Werehog alone? In Sonic Adventure 2, there was a mode to play as Hero Boss battles alone… and Dark boss battles alone.
What about… Sonic Day levels alone… and Werehog levels alone?
act trail/stage select/whatever they call it says hi.
I think not,but you can just select the levels you want to play,so no problem,
@BanoX93: Thanks a bunch for sending those! They ought to be in the gallery now!
Who deleted my comments?
@David Leggett: No problem man! Glad I could help!
@BanoX93: Actually it might have been me =/ We had a bunch of duplicates in the queue, and I may have made a mistake. I’m really sorry :(
@David Leggett: Don’t worry about. I’m just glad I could help!
The dawn screenshots = hub?
It looks so beautiful *.*
I wanna play NOW!
Or is it a part of a cutscene? Really hard to tell.
I meant sunset screenshots xD
Heh, okay. Still wanting to know more about the Wii version.
@Pirpuu:
could be dawn as well,perhaps.
I took a look at sonic on the last pic.
He looks like in normal gameplay,but it could be a regular small cutscene.
But there is also a loop in another picture,which confirms it as hub.
Looks awesome.Not bland like soleanna was a bit at all.
@DoctorEggman:
lol I forgot that I only have a Wii.
However I’m really curious of the Wii version’s controls and graphics.
All there is of the Wii version is like 4 fuzzy screenshots isn’t there?
Heh heh…So they were inspired by the fanbase’s suggestions, eh? Anyhoo, I bet that the night-time gameplay will take full advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. The Nunchuck would be used to move, while the Wii Remote is used to throw some fast punches. Looking good.
Oh and another thing. I’ve heard that in Sonic Heroes and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, the camera system wasn’t at all user-friendly. I’m pretty sure that they’re fixing it here.
