Earlier in July, GamesTM spoke with SEGA and revealed that the Japanese name for Sonic Unleashed would actually be called Sonic World Adventure. It would essentailly be the same game - except Japanese - just with a different title, and some different branding.
The Japanese site for Sonic World Adventure just went live, and some resourceful readers here at Camp Sonic were quick to notify us (Actually, I wrote this in advance, but by the time it’s posting, I know have about 10 emails, and plenty of comments letting me know, so way to be on top of things folks! Also, appreciate the help grabbing the screenshots!). Besides looking a lot prettier than the English version of the site, the Sonic World Adventure site also features quite a few new screenshots that we haven’t seen before.
Other than that, it’s got some screenshots and videos that we’ve seen before… oh, and its videos all work… as opposed to the American site which seems to have some errors currently.
And here are the new screenshots (Updated with some more Hi Resolution shots thanks to Zio over at SSMB):

I wish that Sega didn’t change the lettering for the “Sonic Unleashed” logo. I personnally liked the original logo for two reasons:
It was very plain, simple and truly signified a reboot of the series
The style of the plain lettering gave it an epic feel which I like the most
Am I the only one who thinks this?..
@dragonite: I’m willing to guess that the “zones” (Africa, Mykonos, China, etc.) are split up into at least four “acts”, in the cycle of Day, Day/Night transition, Night, and Night/Day transition, with the cycle repeating for as long as you want to play the zone. Wait, I’m confusing myself. Day and Night would be immune to the passage of time and would also have no time limit for act completion, whereas the transitional stages only allow you to go on until the clock-driven sun rises or sets, at which point you’re pushed into the next act in the cycle (and the game saves, so that you can pause, go to the menu/map, and return to the previous act if you want).
@DarkChaos: lol He played guitar in Sonic Underground xD
That show was wierd.
@dragonite: I believe it is going to be both. From what I understand, there will be times when you are locked into being the werehog and then there is going to be times when time goes pass at a internal time rate that can be somehow controlled to an extent. Sort of like in many current Zelda titles that allow you to play a tune to change day into night and vice versa, except I don’t think Sonic is going to play a tune to change the time. Sonic playing an instrument. O.o Weird picture.
Just a heads up folks, we’ve updated the screenshots with some more Hi-Resolution ones posted by Zio.
Also, that conflict was a misunderstanding, so no more worries on that front.
The four last pictures is beautifull.
I think Sonic World Adventure Sounds better that Unleashed but Unleashed sounds cool.
@Gryphon:
yeah,silence for the storm.
I wonder how time is going to be handled, seeing the sunset.
Will it be story based, will it based on a ingame clock.etc.
Not on the real time, because of the whole wherehog thing.
And I heard of ways to move the time forward somewhere on this site recently..
great shots. but I would like to see some wii screenshots and game footage
@Sheza:
he ripped the same time himself without knowing of zino.
He found it alone, and he alerted this site, not zino.
Besides, does it even matter that much?
It is not ripped art of something like that..
Apparently it is possible for me to get even more excited just from watching the same video, so long as there is a higher frame rate because then I get to see more stuff (like the split nanosecond before Sonic gets yanked back down the corridor), w00t!
And the last few screenshots of the sunset in Holland/Greece/wherever… beautiful, but at the same time, foreboding, seeing Sonic there among all those white flowers, and knowing what’s going to happen to him once the sun sinks below the horizon…
@Sheza: With all respect Sheza - it is possible for more than one person to capture screenshots from the public Japanese Website. And also, you DID attack Camp Sonic, and not the original poster (Who I have no reason to believe deserves the blame for this). If we are missing anything, you of course are welcome to share with us - we always credit and thank contributors here, which you probably know if you’re a frequent reader.
@Sheza (again): I have an alternate comment style that is activated when some special user criteria is met (ie: for me).
And on another note,
How the hell do you set up wordpress to highlight the editors comments?
I’m not talking about the images that YOU ripped.
The last four images were taken by Zio, and not Bano. I have some more, 1600×900 images like that, if you want them, you must edit your post with credits to Zio.
@unleashe the beast: Just making sure you’re aware that it still is aware for most versions of the game. Only the Japanese version is being called “Sonic World Adventure”
I LIKE IT. SONIC UNLEASHED WAS COOL BUT WORLD ADVENTURE BETTER!!!!!
sonic world adventure unleashed sounds more exiciting
I prefer the title Sonic Unleashed because its shorter and pretty much sounds better. However, that logo is really cool and, in my opinion, better than the one we have for Sonic Unleashed.
Umiyuri, terrific wallpaper.
how come the American version isn’t like the japanese version
@Sheza: Camp Sonic always gives credit where it is due Sheza. I’d rather not argue about this, but I’d appreciate it if you don’t make rash accusations that clearly aren’t deserved. BanoX93 sent us some of the screenshots sometime yesterday morning, while I manually grabbed the rest from the gallery.
On another note, out gallery uses an automated watermark system. We do not put the watermarks on anything here because we created it (obviously, but because other websites constantly hotlink to images from our gallery, and all the bandwidth taken from us isn’t cheap.
wow pictures look great. *looks closely at one* HOLY **** WALL RUNNING!!! im getting this game n matter what now (wait i have made that claim when i saw were-hog footage… and before that). WOAH picture 7 has bright lights i would expect normal sonic in those lights.
