Camp Sonic’s E3 Roundup
E3 is over.
Done.
Gone for.
Am I selfish to say that I for one am quite relieved? All that new information at once, while definitely appreciated, simply wore me out last week… but man, the campers sure did an incredible job staying on top of everything!
Just in case you got distracted from the important things in life – like E3, with miniscule things such as Work, or Family, or whatever it is that was playing in theaters on Thursday that had everyone in such an uproar… oh wait, yeah, I was at a midnight showing for The Dark Knight too… here’s everything that went down, all in one large list:
- New Sonic Unleashed Trailer
- New Sonic Unleashed Screenshots
- Joystiq Interviews Patrick Riley on Sonic Unleashed

Also, I’ve gotten about 20 emails already about this Black Knight nonsense already, but I don’t plan to cover it here. Yes – It looks real to me. As Camp Sonic expands, we may cover other titles, but for now, we’re strictly here for Sonic Unleashed.

@Mystery the Hedgehog: Oh i reckon you can. Silvers voice annoyed me so much!
Mephiles:”i have the power of time travel”
Silver:”No way!”
and whenever I watch sonic x creams voice makes me want to throw pins at little bunnies. ok not really besides the closest things we got to bunnies round here is roos and their sweet. and it wouldnt be to bad its the gameplay that counts afterall.
I think this black night thing sounds kinda cool. Who sais sonic will actually use the sword in the gameplay. Maybe it can conduct the chaos emeralds.
someone in the first look post jas a link to a site with Wii su pictures (they were confirmed to be if u dont beleive read article) that have 360 quallity, i knew sega would pull through!!! =D
*has a link
Amy’s been confirmed hey. Any ideas of what her role will be anyone?
she will be following sonic averywhere asking him to marry her like always i guess…. :o
anyway if sonic and the black knight was real think about it….
do you really imagine sonic with a sword? if you ask me it would be the same crap that SEAG made with shadow the hedgehog…
do you know what i mean? it would just be stupid to make another crapish game like that and i hope its not real becouse if it is sonic will be dead to me :(
sorry i spelled wrong SEGA
@RockerDuDe: come on mate . Dont judge a game before its release. I for one think it could be awesome if done right. The only thing I’m annoyed at is that it will only b for Wii. But I have been a sonic fan since i was like 6 and I will stick by him thru it all. Thats what a true fan would do.
Sonic will never die!
lol
That pic with him an the sword looked awesome
I mean no offence, just dont judge a game before release.
Sonic Unleashed is going to be awesome! I liked Sonic 06, even with all the problems, but Unleashed looks near perfect to me.
@WiiFP:
I dunno, It was just a random joke. XD
I think that it is inportant that sonic stays alive as a brand.
medicore or not.
better consoles is extremely good for sonic.
in the future,levels will become larger and will look stunning as well.
On a side note,I am off for holiday for another three weeks.
See ya.
@dragonite:
If the Sonic franchise misses the mark a few more times in a row (worst-case scenario), I wish SEGA would just hand it over to Nintendo. Although I hope that never has to happen.
@Final Rush:
Nintendo’s falling downhill fast nowdays though. They’re making awsome games easier for the new gamers. If Sonic became Nintendo, it would be worse than it already is, and that’s saying somethin’.
(Let the records show that I love Nintendo and Sonic games)
@JrDude:
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that. Let the test of time show that Nintendo can still make AAA titles (ex: LoZ:TP, MP3:C, SMG, SSBB, etc).
I mean, you’re talking as if they’d cross Sonic with Wii Fit. Remember, just because a game is more accesible to new players doesn’t mean that the overall experience is detracted from veterans.Nintendo would know how to handle Sonic, especially if SEGA were to supervise development.
@Final Rush:
Look what they did in the Secret Rings, and now they gave him a sword, not very good imo.
SEGA made Secret Rings, not Nintendo.
@Final Rush: Did nintendo ever MAKE a Sonic game?
@retsetemag: Well…the problems with the recent Sonic titles were:
- Slower gameplay
- Unco-operative camera system
- Glitches
Sonic Unleashed has a new “Hedgehog Engine” which solves the gameplay problem, allowing Sega to bring back the traditional 2.5D feel as well as fix the camera and glitch problems. Also, a new component has been added- Sonic the Werehog. A new full-3D all-out brawl when the Sun goes down. You can block enemy attacks then return fire with crazy combos. Gameplay will be somewhat similar to The Legend of Zelda and Devil May Cry. Can be useful for those who were unable to get their hands/paws on Devil May Cry 4.
@JrDude:
Nope, unless you count Brawl as a Sonic game. Even Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games was made by SEGA.
@TailstheHedgehog: Yes, that image does look awesome, but I have my doubts.
@RockerDuDe: Shadow the Hedgehog actually isn’t that bad. I own the ‘unplayable’ PS2 version and it works perfectly fine. The game does auto-fire and only an idiot would manage to Homing Attack themselves off a cliff.
@EnzeruAnimeFan: That’s Jason on the trailer and the gameplay. His contract hasn’t ended yet. It’s only been about three/four years.
And please, nobody say anything Jason. SA2’s cast didn’t do a much better job at voicing the characters, anyway. (awaiting hate mail)
