    On NOVEMBER 8TH Sega announced that they would delay the Playstation 3 version. Before that date, Sonic 06 was scheduled to release on PS3 launch, November 17th.

    Sonic 06 came to 360 on November 14th, 2006. Sega’s OFFICIAL reasoning for the PS3 version’s delay, “time needed to incorporate downloadble content.” It wasn’t until November 8th, 2006 did Sega last-minute delay the PS3 version… from practically the same time as the 360 version.

    This has nothing to do with Microsoft, and Sega gave official word for the PS3 version’s delay.

    @KC Cross: Yeah. Imagine the pressure, though. Even if the game is that terrible, I don’t half feel sorry for SEGA for coming up with that storyline and then messing it all up like that… the story and the way everything clicked together felt like SA1 when I was watching the cutscenes on YouTube. It was all pretty clever.

    @umiyuri: Maybe it WAS rushed.

    Makes sense.

    @xbox say: Look, I’m not blaming Microsoft only and completely and, no, I didn’t get the information off Wikipedia, either. I got it from another couple of websites, although I can’t recall which ones.

    What I meant was that SEGA wanted to release both games around Christmas, but Microsoft put them under pressure to release it beforehand because of the upcoming PS3 release and their fear that the console would be better than theirs because it was in development for much longer. I don’t believe I ever said that it wasn’t going to be released in 2006 - I mean, Jesus, it was the freakin’ anniversary game and I’d never say that it wasn’t meant to be released then.

    Okay, compromise - SEGA were stressed out by the development of the title for two very different consoles at the same time in a relatively short time for a dual development AND Microsoft bugged them to do it faster so that they could out-race the PS3 release, alright?

    I’m sorry, I didn’t want to tick anybody off, and I’m not accusing anyone of anything. Except maybe the whole group for making what was potentially a good game so **** that every time I see it I shout ‘demon game’ and demand that it be taken off the shelves and every copy in stock burned because it’s so terrible a game that it’s not worth presenting in public.

    I know people are entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn’t give you the right to make such false accusations. Sega has confirmed SEVERAL TIMES that they wanted to release the game in 2006. Infact, Sega generally spends 1 year of development per game.

    http://games.kikizo.com/features/sega_sonicteam_interview_feb07_p3.asp

    That is an ACTUAL INTERVIEW in which Sega confirms that their entire plan was to release the game in 2006. People get sued all the time on wikipedia for defamation due to false info.

    @Mystery the Hedgehog: i’ll agrea with you maybe thats what they shoud do to make weresonic more intersting. cause the intense of this game that idea is a awesome for weresonic. thanks Mystery the Hedgehog.

    @sonic roaltyx: You mean Greg Eagles? Well, I suppose Sega COULD let them give it a shot, but I don’t think they’ll find it fitting. Maybe they’ll just alter Jason Griffith’s voice (e.g. make the pitch lower, add animal SFX) instead. Or maybe they’ll have both Greg and Jason saying Were-Sonic’s lines at the same time (like Kara Edwards (Young Son Goten) and Laura Bailey (Young Trunks) did for Gotenks in Dragon Ball Z).

    @Final Rush: I’m pretty sure. Microsoft, SEGA, everybody thought that it was going to be the game of the year. A lot of Sonic fans wanted it, and to get it they’d need to buy a Next-Gen console. Microsoft sped it up to before the PS3 was released so that more Xbox 360s would be sold in that year. Obviously, the plan didn’t work, and SEGA were left with a mess of programming that they had to get out on the PS3, which put more stress on them to release it in time and so screwed it up even more.

    By the way, nice name. Can’t wait until I reach that stage. ^.^

    More excited!! I can’t wait for this game. All the stuff I’ve seen so far I’ve liked. I always wanted a Knuckles fighting element back in the games and I have that with Weresonic. I loved the speedruns in Sonic ‘06 and the sense of speed that you got when going through them. (I always replay Kingdom Valley just to play that amazing speedrun) This game is perfect!!
