We’ve been getting quite a few fan submissions lately with wallpapers, many of which will find their way to the front page of Camp Sonic sooner or later… but before I forget, I wanted to slip in one of the wallpapers I put together using some stills in the new Sonic Unleashed E3 Trailer. If you’re running a widescreen setup at 1280×800, then this wallpaper might suit your fancy!

@KC Cross: There’s that too. Pretty much why Shadow called him the ultimate - you could never knock Sonic down. Then it happened. Total break in Sonic tradition.
Mephiles somehow knew about Amy, for God’s sake… actually, he was half of the Arabic devil. Probably has a naughty-nice list like some kind of crystalline Santa Claus.

Mephiles needed things to be perfect. Shadow was the freak detail. He was alive when Elise died, Sonic was framed and Solaris was released and had no relation to these events, yet he was chased down and arrested by GUN and preserved in a volcano. When Elise survived the crash, suddenly Mephiles needed to correct it. He needed everything either perfect or close enough. Killing Shadow would then screw everything over and change the future forever. A ‘butterfly effect’ of sorts.
Killing Shadow would also cause a paradox. Mephiles used the Future Shadow to try and convince the real Shadow to stop fighting him. It caused Shadow to get angry, at the least. If Shadow then suddenly died, then Mephiles would have no future to influence him with. They wouldn’t have met for their final battle, Shadow would have lived, and the whole cycle starts over.
And I don’t wish to have a ’stache. I’m a girl. XP
@Umiyuri: OK, i guess all that’s well and good, but my point was just that fictional heroes usually fight their arch nemeses for a long time and the heroes dont kill and the villains want to kill the heroe but NEVER DO.
The fact that Mephiles KILLED SONIC THAT EASILY (for WHATEVER REASON) makes him a CRAZY VILLAIN!
Yur right about him knowing it would have dire consequenses if he did it, but if he knew Sonic (or had another person to fight besides Shadow) then why didnt Mephiles KILL SONIC BEFORE?
and HOW WOULD MEPHILES KNOW SONIC? wasnt he locked up in a vial or sumthing?
and HOW COME MEPHILES DIDNT JUST KILL SHADOW?

@KC Cross: He knew Sonic was somebody Elise cared about (Elise was one of the people he manipulated over time) and he needed to release Solaris. Solaris only appeared when she cried. So… to get Solaris, get Elise to cry. And who better to cry over than her new-found crush, Sonic the Hedgehog?
Not only that, it served as a punch in the face for the other hedgehogs. Silver wanted to kill Sonic - and then found out that it was killing him that caused hell. And Shadow thought Sonic was the REAL ultimate life-form - Sonic’s death would get him very worried. Sonic dies? Shadow could too, and not be able to keep his promise to Maria.
Amy’s probably got the least obvious consequence - it wasn’t that he’d died and that he’d never tell her he loved her, but that her hope for all things suddenly just drips down the drain. The only person who could save the world in her eyes just got knocked down and all Iblis was suddenly unleashed. Sonic is more than a crush, he’s her idol and her role-model and everything she wants to be.
Tails would be crushed. His only family, his ‘big brother’ would be dead. Knuckles would realise just how important Sonic really was in his life. Cream doesn’t believe in death, so she’d be confused until the day she grows up, and then it’d hit her like a violent wave. Rouge knows Shadow does respect Sonic, so she can see how he would suddenly sink away, and she’d fall into depression without him because he makes her happy. And I bet Jet the Hawk wouldn’t half have stung. His rival beats him then just dies like that, without a chance for a rematch!?
Mephiles wasn’t the ultimate villain because he killed someone he didn’t know. Mephiles knew Sonic and knew how much of an impact he’d had on his friends and that taking him out of the picture would be like cutting off their legs.
Mephiles was the ultimate villain for destroying their lives.
…but that’s not about the wallpaper, is it?
