Poll Results: Chao in Sonic Unleashed
Earlier this month, we asked you all how important of an element Chao are in Sonic Unleashed. Out of all the questions I see in the comments… heck, even my inbox… Chao always seem to come out on top. What did all the campers have to say about them though?
Based on over 700 votes, 44% of the campers decided that while Chao are fun, they can certainly live without ‘em. That’s nearly 50% of the Camp Sonic viewers who suggest that they really aren’t necessary to make Sonic Unleashed a killer game.
Quickly following the dominant vote was Chao are “Very Important” at 29%, followed by “Won’t consider buying the game without them” at a surprising 16%. Will that many of you honestly not consider Sonic Unleashed without Chao? There is after all another game to get your Chao fix from this year (Sonic Chronicles for the Nintendo DS).
On a final note, before my Inbox fills up with the obligatory “Will there be Chao in Sonic Unleashed????” emails, I want to take a moment to reiterate that we will not have that answer until SEGA is ready to answer that question.

@Kev: That’s exactly what I was thinking. They told us that so much would not be in the game, but they didn’t say Chao wasn’t. It’s a good sign. :)
I dont think they would fit in THIS game but in black knight they would fit.
chao could fit in any game they are so cute that they fit in every environment

david has pretty much figured out how to control our conversations like he probly just wants us to ramble on about chao right now and later he will do something to make us talk about the amy and werehog clip leak. am i right david? so i think chao should be wii exclusive since PS360 have fancy pancy graphics so why shouldnt the wii have a bonus thing too? PS360 have replay value cause of graphics wii has replay value because of gameplay. so why not more gameplay with chao?

Chao aren’t necessary in a Sonic game. You have to make sure that Chao in the game would have a point, or some relation to the plot – they are important to storyline in SA and Sonic Chronicles. In the case that that can’t be done, the garden has to be specially enhanced (for example, in SA2, Chao have no relation to the plotline whatsoever, but the garden had the added Chaos Drive and Chao Editor features, as well as a kindergarten with lessons and a doctor’s office, to make up for it and almost turn it into a different game entirely).

DX had better graphics than SA2B for some reason or at least thats MY opinion SA2B didnt even have cg scenes. what up wit dat??? btw David you wont take away the posting right from someone who almost loves sonic as much as God!
chao garden will be ok in this game. or like if you wanna rest you can go to the chao garden and take care of your chao’s

@Nano: @Chaoscontrol: SA2 was never released for the PC I have the games for the Dreamcast and Gamecube if you include that my sister picked up the other version. It is possible that you may be able to find a very cheap console and copy of the game at a used game store like Game Stop if you are willing to go that far.

if this game has no chao i wont buy it >=[….. i’l rather buy sonic and the black knight im willing to go that far and sonic and the black knight has more possibilitys of getting a chao garden becouse in the game there are like some little fairy chaos that give you magic stuff or speed and if they are putting them like items i bet they are putting a chao garden ;)
@RockerDuDe: Good Point! But don´t get your hopes high right now, we know little about SatBK! I still hope they will put a new Chao garden in a future Sonic game! Let´s hope they do EVEN THINK about adding a Chao Garden in a future game! :/

This of course all depends on what direction we move in at Camp Sonic…
anyway sonic and the black knight seems better to me xD is like a zelda game but faster and with a swrod that talks named calibur…..
P.S i hate that the sword talks is kind of stupid xD but anyway is going to be a good game

@RockerDuDe: I’m just finding the names to be terrible puns. Merlina, (ex)Calibur… then again, Erazor Djinn is a bit bad too. But this -is- Sonic the Hedgehog. Puns galore, namewise: Shadow is dark; Rouge wears makeup (but ironically does not actually wear rouge); Big is big; Vanilla, Cream, Cheese and Chocola are all sweet; Miles Prower… needs no explanation; Robotnik – robotnik is Russian ‘worker’ or ’slave’, and Eggy used to ‘roboticise’ animals. Let’s not forget Bunnie Rab-bot either.
I just want all the Sonic games to lampoon themselves like the MGS series does. Like in SatSR.

@RGamer: I like your idea about that triangle-system support (though if you add the DS game Chronicles, it’d be a square system support of GBA-GCN-Wii-NDS)
but if Nintendo is having problems with the usage of accesoires like the (GCN) DK Bongos on a certain WiiWare game, I don’t see a lot of chances for support for the GCN(/Wii)-GBA link cable for this game.
Reading the GCN memory card and the DS would be get a higher chance.
Also, if the GCN/DS memory card would be supported, the created data should be copied/imported and not just read, so you won’t get restraints on new features like new chaos drive types and stuff like that.

XD!

no jk. my question is where the heck is the spin dash? Its worrying me because a sonic game wouldnt be compete without it. Smash bros showed how impotant of a move the spin dash is to sonic and the only game the forgot it was S&TSR. So … Does anyone care? If they want to truly have the classics roots, they are going to need the spin dash and spin roll more than that weird slide. Wy would a it?
((Correction)) Why would a hedgehog slide forward on his back? Isnt that against the law of friction? It would just make more sense if he rolled instead of slid, thats all im saying.

Yaaay! I don’t really know the Japanese titles, Apart from Sonic World Adventure. Mind you, Shooting Star Story sounds better than Zero Gravity. Some of those were really obvious, like Sonic Battle… you probably noticed I got nearly all the new games right, because I’m a New School Sonic Gamer. :)

I’m giving all hopes that they will put in Chao cause they are the best, in my opinion. And the game would really be great.
