Earlier this month, we asked you all how important of an element Chao are in Sonic Unleashed. Out of all the questions I see in the comments… heck, even my inbox… Chao always seem to come out on top. What did all the campers have to say about them though?
Based on over 700 votes, 44% of the campers decided that while Chao are fun, they can certainly live without ‘em. That’s nearly 50% of the Camp Sonic viewers who suggest that they really aren’t necessary to make Sonic Unleashed a killer game.
Quickly following the dominant vote was Chao are “Very Important” at 29%, followed by “Won’t consider buying the game without them” at a surprising 16%. Will that many of you honestly not consider Sonic Unleashed without Chao? There is after all another game to get your Chao fix from this year (Sonic Chronicles for the Nintendo DS).
On a final note, before my Inbox fills up with the obligatory “Will there be Chao in Sonic Unleashed????” emails, I want to take a moment to reiterate that we will not have that answer until SEGA is ready to answer that question.

But anyway, the point was Chao, right? Okay. Chao = cute. Chao in most situations = cute. Chao being ripped apart by an evil lycanthropy-stricken Sonic the Hedgehog = not cute. If Chao ever end up in this game, it’ll be an Omochao cameo.
Coincidentally, Omochao = annoying. So if you get ticked during Werehog levels you could pick up Omochao and throw him at enemies.

Looking back through my ONM collection, they had an article on the Leipzig Games convention, and they said this.
“Unlike E3, the Games Concention lets the public get their hands on the games Nice.”
That is probably when SEGA will release the Sonic Unleashed Demo. I think the Convention is in September…

i was looking at the sa2b credits and hashimotto was the head director of chao or whatever. so chao will probally be in the game because he is the head game designer or whatever.

@Kev: it’d be cool if they had HD fur, like were-sonic. maybe chao that evolve in the night in real time, on the internal clock, could become were chao. maybe they would just make a were version of every type of chao.
another idea is that a chao that hatches “or evolves” on a night scheduled for a full moon, they would be were chao.

To say the truth, chao would be a great idea for this game. Knowing that Sonic is the only playable character, it would be cool to make a dark chao at night, and a good chao during the day. Plus, Werewolf Chao would look soo kickass!
i just want to know if chao are in the game! but i can wait for the game to come out for some reason.
