New Sonic Unleashed Wii Screens
Apparently, this was a bigger deal than I thought it was – cause my inbox is bulging from the seems right now. Can’t a man ever get any rest around here?
I’m joking of course, I couldn’t handle this job without so many alert viewers here. Works been pretty insane lately, and I’m also busy looking at houses right now (my box in the alley just isn’t as roomy as it once seemed), so this update’s coming a bit late.
STORM! over at the Sega Nerds Forum posted some new Sonic Unleashed Wii Screenshots and Manga (revealing what many are already speculating to be a new character) which have got folks all worked up. If you want my opinion, it’s not much – and all this attention is unwarranted – but hey, that’s just my take. I’ll be much more thrilled when I see some actual comparitive shots between the Wii platform, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.

Uh, first comment here, what should I say…
The game really does look and sound good. Of course, as the “cycle” message near the top implied, we won’t ever REALLY know how this game handles and appeals until we actually get our hands on it. But it’s a good thing that the developers are saying that they’re aware of the mistakes in the past. It gives us ground for some hope.
But yeah, I’d agree that some comparative shots would be nice. I’ll end up getting the PS2 version.

That dog thing looks a little weird and if the werehog isnt going to be a worry point (though to me it looks excellent, I’m talking about the ever frustrating critics) then this fairy-mutt will be.

Wow! Lots of posts! Anyway, I can’t get alot from scans, they come out kinda fuzzy, I like to read from scans, but screenshots always come out bad. I think the Manga is a hoax, I don’t know why they would wright a Manga about a game that might not even be sucessfull. I mean I’ll buy it, but it’s the non-diehard Sonic fans I’m worried about. Someone awhile ago said something about Sonic just having a circle for a shadow in the Wii version. They’ll change it in the final version becouse Sonic had a realistic shadow in Sonic and the Secret Rings. I’m not to worried about the graphics, they’ll come out great! You’ll be surprised!
The new character’s name is Chip (chippu). The guy in the apron is called Ice (aisu).
And Sonic yells: “I GOT IT!” Then something along the lines of: “There’s too much to do!” or “There’s a whole world to explore!”, although I think the first one’s closer to his expression in the frame.
I think that the Wii and PS2 version is the same as Xbox360 and PS3 version only Hedgehog Engine is missing, worth grafic and shadows. Sonic and Weresonic looks same as on Xbox 360 and PS3.
@Kadeb: Technically the games are going to be as similar as possible.
But the quality isn’t going to be as good for the Wii & PS2.

Those Wii screens look promising. It’s obvious the graphics are unfinished, but it’s nice to see that they will be colorful and at least somewhat similar to the 360/PS3 versions. I still plan to buy both the 360 and Wii versions for the different level design, but for my friends that only have a Wii…I just want it to be as similar graphically as possible.

Only new characters this year are in chronicles, but they fit with the story, and will only be used once. Bioware knows what there doing, and for unleashed, sega knows too!

I did it with pausing as well,putting my left hand on the pause button.
It look 2 hours before I cleared it.
A month ago I was 15 or so rings short WITHOUT pausing.
I want to clear it the fair way now.

1 play trough the level until you reach special stage
2 you get a peparation moment
3 put your left(or right for lefties) hand on the pause button.
Cross it in a way it does’t hinder your other arm.
4 put the stylus in your main hand
5 start the stage
6 now,you can use your stylus hand to steer as usual.
7 within seconds you are confronted wit a chaotic mine field.
8 pause,and observe the screen.
determine the place where you need to move.it is best to cross a short distance.
9 unpause,play for a half sec.
10 pause again,and repeat.
in practice it mean you pause and unpause all the time while making small,but precise movement.
You can cleary make out a path this way,
I found out,that at least for me,the advantage isn;t the ”warping” of sorts,but that you put much less strain on you reflexes.
Keep trying this way,and you should succeed.
I almost did it without pausing.
It gotta be that your brain gets used to the stage,I know it by heart now.I did it before,and now it does’tt seem like a impassable mine field anymore.
It is like learing to bike,and the pausing is the side wheels.
