I’m joking of course, I couldn’t handle this job without so many alert viewers here. Works been pretty insane lately, and I’m also busy looking at houses right now (my box in the alley just isn’t as roomy as it once seemed), so this update’s coming a bit late.
STORM! over at the Sega Nerds Forum posted some new Sonic Unleashed Wii Screenshots and Manga (revealing what many are already speculating to be a new character) which have got folks all worked up. If you want my opinion, it’s not much - and all this attention is unwarranted - but hey, that’s just my take. I’ll be much more thrilled when I see some actual comparitive shots between the Wii platform, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
I think that the Wii and PS2 version is the same as Xbox360 and PS3 version only Hedgehog Engine is missing, worth grafic and shadows. Sonic and Weresonic looks same as on Xbox 360 and PS3.
The new character’s name is Chip (chippu). The guy in the apron is called Ice (aisu).
And Sonic yells: “I GOT IT!” Then something along the lines of: “There’s too much to do!” or “There’s a whole world to explore!”, although I think the first one’s closer to his expression in the frame.
Wow! Lots of posts! Anyway, I can’t get alot from scans, they come out kinda fuzzy, I like to read from scans, but screenshots always come out bad. I think the Manga is a hoax, I don’t know why they would wright a Manga about a game that might not even be sucessfull. I mean I’ll buy it, but it’s the non-diehard Sonic fans I’m worried about. Someone awhile ago said something about Sonic just having a circle for a shadow in the Wii version. They’ll change it in the final version becouse Sonic had a realistic shadow in Sonic and the Secret Rings. I’m not to worried about the graphics, they’ll come out great! You’ll be surprised!

That dog thing looks a little weird and if the werehog isnt going to be a worry point (though to me it looks excellent, I’m talking about the ever frustrating critics) then this fairy-mutt will be.

Uh, first comment here, what should I say…
The game really does look and sound good. Of course, as the “cycle” message near the top implied, we won’t ever REALLY know how this game handles and appeals until we actually get our hands on it. But it’s a good thing that the developers are saying that they’re aware of the mistakes in the past. It gives us ground for some hope.
But yeah, I’d agree that some comparative shots would be nice. I’ll end up getting the PS2 version.

Yeah, that magazine was released in July, it just took me awhile to get my copy of it. I live in America and it’s a UK magazine. =) Anyways, those aren’t PS2 screens (mostly Xbox 360/PS3), I am just a bit late on posting scans of that magazine. I there weren’t many scans of it online, so better late then never.
