Sonic Unleashed… Box art?
Never trust a box folks.
Yesterday, MKSkillz sent us a link to Play.com showing off what might be the Sonic Unleashed Box art. While we always appreciate the heads up — we don’t always post about leads if there doesn’t seem to be enough substance behind them.
I think we might need to take a step back here. While this certainly looks compelling, I’m going to suggest that this might not be the official art for the game. It could be. But folks are jumping to conclusions it seems.
If you want my honest opinion, the “Box Art” in question looks like it could be a Photoshop mock-up. I know it’s on Amazon, so it must be official, right!? Well, not so much, as Amazon allows users to upload their own product images, and it’s not rare to see placeholders for upcoming games in online stores like this.
So in short, I don’t mean to be raining on this parade, but I do think we should take one tiny step back and wait for the official word from SEGA before making any final judgment calls here.

I certainly hope not. It just doesn’t have that “oomph” that I would expect from a Sonic game cover, you know.
It certainly looks proffesional though
My idea is that it’s from SEGA, but it’s a placeholder. It’s not the final.

@KC Cross: Your boxart reminds me of the Sonic Adventure 2 one since it shows to characters side by side. Hope the final boxart looks alot like yours or better ^_^

It does look real. But also it does look like some one did a photo shop on this number. But i’m agreeing on waiting for the final word from sega.
Looks nice, but feels like something is missing.

Hay cant you get sued for puting a “licensed by Nintendo” thing on it without permission from Nintendo?Im betting this is real,maybe an expirimental cover but Im thinking its authentic.

i don’t like the idea of sonic with a sword. and i didn’t like that in SatSR u couldn’t like stop and turn around. i liked SA2B, i consider it the best 3D sonic game. but with SU comig up who knows…

i like it. it looks real, but still………..
not bad, very epic yo. however, i feel its lacking, just looks a bt plain in the background. i want more of the blue hedgehog coz i’m stingy, sure icant understand the split, but if they did the cover in the style of mp3 corruption on the wii then i’d be fine.

Looks to much like mario and sonic at the olympic games. i like the background.
Sonic’s Black Knight looks too much like fire emblem’s black knight. i have the sticker on brawl for FE’s, and i compared it to the magazine i have of SBK’s black knight.
It looks authentic. There’s no evidence saying it’s fake but you’re right it might be fake. Or it might not…

i wanna see an actual wii gameplay video :s
u know wat sonic games need? realistic, yet impossible, environments, as well as reckless speed. SU has that (or it seems like that). but i liked SA2B b/c of that. i mean, who doesn’t like running around trees, pyramids, space, etc.? but i hope that sega stops making new characters, cuz the ruin the game. having about 20 new characters in a game just doesn’t look ok. I think there should only be sonic, eggman, tails, and knuckles. but that’s just my thoughts.

I agree, they probably won’t. Not to sound like a freak, but I have a gut feeling this game is going to be amazing. Actually I was looking back when Sonic Next-Gen was comming out, and everyone was all hyped up about it, and I noticed my gut feeling back then; it kinda said “Hmm… this looks great, but it doesn’t seem right. Like it doesn’t click with what’s Sonic is all about.”
But Sonic Unleashed… I have no doubt this will suck in anyway. And logicaly we’ve seen true gameplay (not in the trailer from E3, but the thing from gamespot). And we could CLEARLY see people make mistakes. I somehow feel it’s gonna be even better BECAUSE we’ve seen REAL people make mistakes. Not some Experts who made the mach speeds look like child’s play.
I’m just mainly saying that through logic there is probably no doubt this will suck. And if that’s not enough, try trusting your gut feeling. (But for all we know, my gut feeling could be wrong)

Well if this IS real than we can almost guarantee that Sonic Unleashed will be rated E10+.
