It may be shaky-cam, and half of the footage may involve unknowing bystanders blocking our view, but other than that, this is the first video of a full stage we’ve seen so far.

It’s Mykonos Greece, though I can’t say whether it’s the first of the stages from the world or not… but it’s a stage we’ve seen bits and pieces of before.  Looks like the playtime was somewhere around 3 and a half minutes.

Video is down below.

Thanks to kkxprs and Jos-el for sending this my way earlier.

Well from what I’ve heard it sounds like the Wii might be the worst out of the 4 systems it’s being made on. Though the PS2 and the Wii are being made by the same people that would make you think the graphics would be the same right? Wrong. The PS2 overpowers the Wii in graphics many times over. You’re probably thinking: Yeah right. Well just rent Bionicle Heroes for it and I’m telling you the graphics are very good. And just to see how good video scenes can be for the PS2 I recommend Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. Who’s laughing now Nintendo? Muahahahahah!!!

oh yeah and plus the other characters u mould have (in SH) i think its 64 stages.
hehe i did that in my head
    …..its not that amazing
    oh and plus boss levels
hmmm i think sonic unleashed probably needs more than 9 levels I think your right jaouad. the more the merrier

The Wii version levels -are- different, to make up for the change of control style. However, the level themes and the story should be exactly the same.

@jaouad: sonic heroes had 14 stages (7 maps) plus boss levels. Thats my favourite sonic game and one of the best. It still makes me smart that critics gave it a low score because it was to easy. What rubbish!
Sonic 06 had 10 breathtaking levels (so sais the cover, hate tropical jungle) plus boss and superspeed stages.
9 seems like enough depending on how well done and how long the levels are.

they said 9 stages,, so that means 18 + the night levels + chillin in the world map

im just kind of comparing this to a mario game,, lets say mario galaxy for example,, so many stages,, and every mission in the stage is like a stage on its own so that makes it even more,,

i know sonic has never been like this,, but when im thinking about sonic adventure dx of sonic adventure 2,, they had more stages didnt they ?? adventure 1 sonic had 10 stages and plus the other charachters i think it would end with 20 25 or somethin like that..

adventure 2 had like a total of 26 stages dont know im just guessin

so this gamne is like new and next gen

wouldnt it be just great if the game had like more stages??,, 9 is just not enough,,, 12 would be better

or 15 :o ,, the more the better !!! i wanna replay all the stages again so i can never get bored

@Maddok: Thanks for answering that, but I think the different design part is just to make it easier for the system to play the game. I don’t think it really is a difference, or does it really change the level that much? Oh yeah, I know the PS2 version is still being made because the Best Buy website has it for preorder and I believe Amazon has it for preorder as well.

@RGamer: Heh, it would be nice to have something that different, but I doubt it. Wasn’t there a comment by one of the Sega’s staff saying that the designers for the PS2 and Wii are working closely together? If that is the case, I doubt there really is much difference besides compensation for lower graphics. That’s mainly why I am thrown off that the PS2 and Wii are considered different. Maybe I am just thinking things as different to a too high of a degree and the difference is so my-neut it isn’t worth noticing. Hopefully, things will become clearer on that subject as it gets closer to the release date.

Well, that looked fun. My only concern is the part where you stop and have to crawl under that thing. That looks like it’s going to break up the fun parts, which is moving fast. Also, PS2 and Wii are going to be the same, but Wii will have gimmicky controls. Or innovative, depending on whether you like them or not. :P Glad to finally see some gameplay, but I own a Wii so I’d like to see some of that.
Also, I heard someone complain about Sonic’s shadow in the Wii version being a circle on the ground. I can tell you right away that this is not laziness, but necessity. I’ve done some 3-d modeling and the lighting is done automatically with the placement of lights, never manually. Lighting on a moving model like sonic would eat up memory that the Wii doesn’t have.

5 miles per lvl. 300 mph, hmmmm. looks like u can finish the lvl in ’bout 30 seconds, lol. and it’s supposed to be that the daytime lvls for the wii r being developed by dimps (from SR), and the nighttime lvls for wii r being developed by sonicteam. so mayb the night lvls r the same, but with worse visuals. i also noticed that there is no speed bar :(, and the ring energy is shown differently. and the shield/vitality bars r different. in overall, the wii version is at least 60% different than the others. also, b/c nintendo is kinda childish… lol… there might be a chao garden for wii, or mayb A MINI CHIP GARDEN. XD. but i doubt it, jaja. i really hope the wii is as good (or better :P) as the 360 cuz i only have a wii, lol.

    @DarkChaos

No word on it in a while I believe.

Maybe it’s SO different, they are keeping it in hiding till later as a surprise.

..or they could have dropped it altogether, as we have moved onto the next gen consoles anyway…

    You decide.

@KC Cross: in the play magazine interview they confirmed that the levels will be six miles in length (shortest level) and bigger ones will exceed more than six miles plus like u said we got tons of missions and achievements unlockable secrets and maybe chao for the game that with the levels that boast more than 15 different paths in the first level means alot of replayability

    @DarkChaos:
    They aren’t COMPLETELY different.
But the daytime levels won’t have the same design in the Wii version as the 360/PS3 version.
Are they even still making the PS2 version? >_>

@KC Cross: How do you know the Wii/PS2 versions are completely different? I keep reading conflicting info on this regard. I know the Wii will have motion sensitive things like the Wii should but is that it, besides lower graphics? Also, how is the PS2 different besides graphics quality? If you, or anyone else knows, I would really appreciate clarification on this. I am getting the game for the PS3 because I want the higher graphics, but I may pick the game up for another console if the difference is great enough.

@jaouad: It was the first level

    What do u expect lol

also they plan to add extra things in the game, like achievements and stuff
    (maybe a chao garden!?!?!? lol)

IMO, they will have a thing where u can replay the game as Super Sonic or sumthin lol

also its hard to say how long the game will go because we dont know how long were-sonic levels are. lol

PLUS the wii/ps2 versions of sonic unleashed are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT HAHA

@WiiFP: i think it is like 5 miles or sumthin lol
