Sega seems to be spitting out new trailers almost every day. Which can mean one and one thing only, we’re getting closer and closer to Sonic Unleashed. The new trailer holds footage of a level we’ve already seen, but it’s still very worth the watch. Check it out below.

As far as NA:
“Not that it neccasarily means anything, but my brother works at Best Buy and said the game is on order already and set for next week’s ad. This doesn’t mean that it couldn’t still be delayed, but it confirms that the 18th is the ship date they actually recieved from Sega.(with it being on shelves the 19th).”
I typed that on TSSZ, but why not quote it? This doesn’t mean all systems are set, but it seems likely the Wii/PS2 will ship on the 18th(and depending where you purchase, available on the 19th).

I think we’ve talked about this before, it’s how Sega has delayed Japans date till 2009 cos quality isn’t up to scratch. That link gives some more info.

Not that I’m important, but did anyone read my post? I believe in the 18th(19th) now for at least Wii/PS2. 360 and Ps3 could be later but I don’t have enough information.
Nervertheless, it’s confirmed that the 18th was not a made up date by stores…but an actual release date set by Sega. We could still get a delay at this stage, but I doubt it. Usually, delays this close to release come not from quality issues but from unexpected issues like what happened to Littlebigplanet.
As far as concerns…yeah, there’s always a concern. This is Sega, and this is Sonic Team. The last major Sonic title was rushed and it led to a crappy game. But there are some differances here:
1.Sonic ‘06 got generally bad press in previews that called it buggy…Unleashed is praised for running well. In fact, the only criticism with Unleashed seems to be apprehension about the Werehog.So, at bottom…we’re talking about a fundamentally more sound engine.
2. We don’t even know if it’s being rushed. The Japanese version could be delayed because Sonic isn’t as big there, and they want to avoid him getting lost in the release shuffle since 360 and Ps3 don’t even have high installed bases there. The Wii is huge there…it’s still coming out.
3. Sonic games have been rushed since Sonic 2. In fact, most games have features cut or corners cut to hit releases. Some Sonic games have been rushed and good (Sonic 2+3, SA, SA2). Rushed doesn’t always mean bad…it could just mean they didn’t add a feature they could have thrown in given an extra month or two. And that feature isn’t worth the missing Christmas shopping season.
Be cautious, and let’s keep an eye on it. But this project looks more solid than ‘06 or Shadow ever did(even if I like Shadow), and I have faith in this project.
Not that I know anything, I didn’t believe Black Knight was real.
About reason no.2…I realize the announcement said the delay is due to quality control. But this gets thrown about sometimes , and it often ends up that another reason existed. It sounds bad to say “We’re delaying this game to maximize profit…it’s done, but you can’t have it yet”. It doesn’t sound very fan friendly. I’m sure they’ll throw in something for their wait, but we’ll get it as DLC later.

I didn’t, I’m confirming their release for the 18th. But the other versions could still be delayed. I guess I didn’t make myself clear on this, sorry.
1. SU is on order for the 18th. The means, barring a delay, at least the Wii/PS2 versions will be out on that day(or the 19th, depending on how your store gets it’s shipments in). The 360 could be the 18th too but I’m not sure.
2. Even though the next gen versions are delayed until 2009 in Japan, the Wii still releases in December. Probably due to better Wii sales in Japan.
After that, I was just countering pessimism on any potential rushing of the game due to Japan’s delay. We need to wait and see.
But yeah, some form on Unleashed is on for the 18th. I just said a delay is POSSIBLE…but I also think it’s unlikely since games never get delayed a week from release for quality control. Unless the delay went in weeks ago and retailers never were told. That’s possible, but I’d lean more to saying it’s unlikely.
And…my brother works in retail and handles orders.
Hey, boys! I just got done reading Sonic the Hedgehog comic #193, complete with an adaptation of Sonic Unleashed.
Now, I’m glad and all that it got a comic cameo, but I think they could have done a much better job of it. They didn’t even show the laser fire! All Eggman did way say fire and then in the next panel he said that the world was shattered and “it” was unleashed… I did like Eggman’s reaction to Werehog, though! Then they go and have Sonic ask a boat load of questions to himself; even his growl was a question! I quote: “Grrrr…?” I liked the way they inked Werehog very much, and I’ll have to remember their technique the next time I draw him. *gets off my soap box* Well, I’m done ranting. If you guys want scans, I’ll make some!

Yeah, it was about time Xplay previewed Sonic Unleashed. They’ve been teasing viewers with brief glimpses of the game since pre-E3, and had left it at that. Xplay isn’t always the most reliable (or predictable) reviewer, but I’ll still be interested in finding out what they end up rating it.
The gameplay they showed of Adabat (daytime) was also really nice.

@chuckey: Yes, but a commonly rumored release date is the 24th, and two weeks before that is the 10th. And on one of the interviews, somebody said ” . . . a couple of weeks before . . . “.
@WiiFP: i get what your saying since i came up with that rumor, but the 28th is the most rumored release date then the demo is coming out on the 14th which is Friday, but some sites have it listed as a release of 25th which means that the demo might come out on the 11th which is a Tuesday, and generally big title games come out either Tuesday or Friday.
Probably Friday so the time will just fly faster than Sonic
and then we get the Demo!

On December 18, we were keen to simultaneously release three versions of SONIC WORLD ADVENTURE, but in order to improve content and software quality further, the PLAYSTATION3 version and Xbox360 launch schedule is not sufficient to determine these qualities. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release date. The plan is now “release in the spring of 2009,” f the release date changes again, this decision will be announced at the official site soon.
In addition, the Wii version will be released on December 18.
This time everyone is, more than anything else, looking forward to the release, and inconveniencing everyone is significant to us, and we apologize deeply.

I just noticed something. At the part where Sonic is running under the Tent around the middle of the video, there is a coin he gets. If you pause it you can see that the coin has a moon on it. So, maybe you have to get the coin to get to play as the werehog right after the level. Sort of like Sonic Heroes, where you have to get the key to play through the special stage at the end.

@blueblur: The spin dash in SU looks just like it does in brawl, but slightly variated. ( I’m not bringing brawl up, it’s just a refference that’s all. OK? I don’t want any of on my back about it.) It looks cool though, it looks like you can only spin dash when going across the dash pads, or when he was boosting. So can you spin dash on the go or do you have to charge up the stationary dash.

I like the “Sonic the Hedgehog” levels on the game, and I like the “Sonic the Werehog” levels.
The Werehog levels is kind of like; playing Knuckles the Enchidna. Expect: Knuckles can’t strect his arms, during battle with those guys. Anyway, the Hedgehog levels were “SUPER!” And the last level, Eggmanland, that level almost got me a head-ace.
I completed the game before coming back to school! I got the game on Chirstmas Day. I finished the game somewhere around, 5, 6, 8days after Chirstmas.
I like to write something, Blueblur said, expect, the Sonic Gang is in the story too!

-Tails stands slinet for 5seconds.
Tails: “Now, Sonic-”
(Voice): Your Lifes! Your Lifes! HA, HA, HA, HA, HA! …HA!
Sonic: “Tails?!”
-Tails is gone. No sight of him in the branches of the forest. Now, leads to one question, “Where is Miles “Tails” Prower?”
*City Forest, Noon*
Knuckles: “Where is it?”
Stranger: “Where is what, Knuckles?”
Knuckles: “The Master Emerald. I’ve only 6minutes to find it or, my duties are over.”
Stranger: “Ha! You said, Duty. Ha! Ha!”
Chip: “Shut up, you.”
-A hedgehog named, Shadow, speeds with Rouge the Bat and E123 Omega, by his side, to the Master Emerald.
Shadow: “No time to waste, guys. We need to head to the Master Emerald, has soon as possible.”
Rouge: “Doesn’t matter to me. I’ve got a Chaos Emerald. Half the power as Chaos, himself.”
Will Knuckles and the stranger find the Master Emerald before Team Dark?

(Voice): No ones around. Looks like your lost. You’re going die with Tails. Within the Afterlife.
Sonic: “WWWOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHH!”

Stranger: “I think I see something glowing.”
Knuckles and Chip: “Really?”
Stranger: “Really. Over there!”
-Chip, Knuckles, and the Stranger races to the Master Emerald.
