I draw sonic everywhere! There is not a single school book I have with no Sonic on or in it. Sonic is everywere. I draw him evry day. I try to tell all people I can about Sonic and SU. Ok not evryone. But all my friends, and if a teacher asks me who the little thing I draw in all my school books is. I answer with proud:

Eggmanland . . . will be alright. I wouldn’t have chosen it for the last zone, but never mind. They could at least have come up with a more imaginative name . . .
But it’s probs not the last last zone. It’s probably like final fortress in SH . . . Or, a better analogy, Final haunt in ShTH. They both had last stories. You probably have to get all sun and moon medals and all S-rankings or something similar to get to the last last zone. Which, hopefully, will be . . . the core. Or something similar.

Anyways, maybe we still could get a 10th world? I am interested to see the theme park mechanics of an Eggman Land, since him having a theme park has been hinted at. At least it isn’t cliche.
I’m feeling the mix of cliche’s and new themes. Too bad none of the achievements give away other characters in the game. It does seem you control character development…hmmm

@keydown: I was going on about this before. You may not be saving anything on the first level just geting your bearings on controls, kinda like a tutorial. That leavs 8 levls. So the next 7 your healing emeralds and last one might be ‘defeat dark gaia’. AND THEN you go to last episode. Sounds good to me!

@keydown: Maybe, but I don’t think so. On the U.S SU site all the levels are on seperate continents, I think. Their all quite far apart at any rate, so I’m not so sure on that theory

Okay, seriously: “Only ‘do’ discover?” When the subtitle of an entry has such an obvious spelling error, aren’t I allowed to be at least a little bit annoyed? Why didn’t anyone else catch this?
Beyond that, the last level is the only level SEGA won’t tell us about, meaning that it’s probably something along the lines of the center of the Earth or outer space, where we’ll fight Dark Gaia, so it makes sense that there won’t be an emerald shrine or chaos emerald there, but that still leaves eight worlds. Someone mentioned that the first world might be more of a tutorial, and wouldn’t contain an emerald. Any other thoughts?
@Crazee: When you mentioned that you liked Shadow, were you referring to the game or the character? Shadow is a great character in SA2, although the same can’t be said for the rest of his games. As to the game “Shadow the Hedgehog,” obviously everyone hates seeing Sonic characters in that context, and the entire effort is regarded as a total failure by most people, but the game had its moments…the last dark level was pretty fun, and the final storyline was a blast when played right.
@keydown: There some sort of mission connected to the story somehow. You know or something else planned.

u guys, on the japan site, theres a big jungle section, what is that???
here is my theory about the levels:
Apotos: where sonic lands and finds tails, who tells him about earth
Spagonia: on the US SU site, they say that this place has a university that attracts ppl in search of knowledge. this could mean that tails chip and sonic went here and that’s where they learn about how to restore the chaos emeralds and about dark gaia.
the next 7: chaos emerald shrines
that’s a total of 9, and remeber, the levels are based on real life locations, but the planet is still mobius (or however that’s spelled), so that’s why on the US site they look seperate. and mayb eggman land come to reality AFTER the whole earth comes together, and then you destroy it and go to a space battle with dark gaia, or maybe an around-the-world fight. now that i remember, SEGA said there wouldn’t be any space levels on SU.
So? what do you think?

You could easily have 10 worlds and 7 continents with 7 shrines.
First of all, Apotos and Spagnonia are on the same continent. Judging by the hints on the website, he goes to Spagnonia to find the Professor…who seemingly lets him know how to save the world through the seven shrines and that will heal the world. He then visits the shrine in Spagnonia…and that’s one continent.(Europe)
Shamar…which is the middle east. Not really a continent in our world, but we’ll let it slide. Second shrine finished.
Chun-Nan…which is Asia. Third Continent/shrine.
Mazuri…Africa. Fourth continent/shrine
Adabat…southeast asian island/American islands…fifth continent/shrine
Empire City..North America. Sixth continent/shrine
Holaska…the Artic. Seventh continent/shrine
Eggman land…unknown
Okay, so we have 9 worlds here that we know of. There’s always a possibilty that Shamar and Mazuri share a shrine and you visit them for different reasons. Same for Abadat/Chun-nan. But either way…We have enough shrines for the continents if taken seperately. There’s seven continents with seven shrines. And then Eggman land=final world.
But…there’s also the possibility that either Chun-nan and Adabat or Shamar and Mazuri share a shrine since they really aren’t different landmasses. In which case, Eggman land would be the final shrine. I think this is likely, since Dark Gaia is likely the final boss and I’d think it would be unlocked by reaching all seven shrines. But that’s speculation, only. It’s very possible we only have the 9 worlds with seven shrines…with Apotos and Eggmanland having no shrines.

BTW, i read somewhere that the adabat level was based in the pacific islands. is this true or was it based on brasil? if it is true, then, OFF the wallz, the jungle level might be brasil. b/c SEGA confirmed that a location would be based on brasil. if it is flase then adabat is based on brasil, and it also has jungle areas and it has ruins, which would explain the ruins somebody was talking about
@someone : heh, we’re both thinking about that.
Oh, and I said I liked the Shadow game. I see it as very flawed…the controls are weak and some missions are monotonous. But the REAL story(not the ones leading to fake endings) was actually pretty touching for a Sonic game. And it validated the effort that beating the game took. I also like the mission structure more than Secret Rings…same level, different tasks. I’d like to see other Sonic games use both that and the character interaction that takes place.

I just saw a Sonic Unleashed trailer on TV. THAT MEANS IT IS RELEASED!
@someone: I think while saving Tails they find one chaos shrine in Apotos, it fixes one chaos emeralds but Tails, Sonic, and Chip don’t know what it is but Tails suggests they go Spagonia to find out.
At Spagonia they find out what the chaos shrine is and what it does, so they go on a world adventure.

Ya, I hated everytime I lost most of my rings(because of damage) so I’m glad they only take rings slowly away
@Nickno: No, Shadow the Hedgehog 10 rings per hit, Sonic’06 1 ring per gun shot and all rings when hit with anything else, Secret Rings 20 rings, but with an equipment you lose 10 rings.
If you look closely you can already see him into the werehog before the full moon.

@Nickno: Seeing as how the developers were planning on naming this Sonic Adventure 3, then deciding that there was too little in common to refer to it as part of the Adventure series, its a possibility, although the story does begin in an untold story of Sonic, so it could be following it’s own story line now.

you go and fight dark gaia as super sonic and fail, almost die. then, you go find knuckles on angel island (which would explain the ruins on the SWA site), he uses the master emerald to super charge the chaos emeralds on transforms them into super emeralds which would make sonic go HYPER!!!! then, you go at dark gaia and you win [period]
hey guys im new to the boards and this is my first comment. However im definitely not new to the site. Ive been visiting this site practically daily for even the most insignificant updates for sonic unleashed. I’ve been waiting anxiously for this game since the rumors back and march and with the release coming up I am more exited for this game than anything else EVER!! (Besides new episodes of Lost, Harry Potter movies or books and Christmas morning) I will scream for hours if the game gets postponed. I am getting it for the wii so I should be ok. But seriously if the release date gets pushed back I’m gonna strangle a puppy.

This just keeps getting confusing.
On the heels of a statement on the Sonic World Adventure site that cites quality concerns as the primary reason for the delay of Sonic Unleashed in Japan, we have found a new, terse statement from ArchangelUK, who writes for the official Sonic City Blognik, that completely contradicts such rationale.
AAUK was attempting to quell concern over at the Sonic Stadium boards about what that delay actually means, and why other regions haven’t followed suit. His words:
Japan have different dates for PS3 and X360 as they want to release together, there won’t be any real differences between their game and “ours”. SOJ often have different dates anyway which shouldn’t be that big a surprise.
It’s noteworthy that there’s still no official launch date announced for Sonic Unleashed in North America, though we’ve been told that Best Buy is planning to promote at least one version of the game in this Sunday’s promotional flyer.
We have a new poll asking whether you think the Japanese delay will mean an incomplete product will be released in the rest of the world. We invite you to vote.

@someone: I see no ruins on the JP website. Can you please specify where you see them? The closest thing I see to ruins are on the American site, which is the night version of Shamar, and I can prove it. If you click on the moon on the earth screen, it shows you (what looks like) Werehog “ruin” gameplay. Now click on the sun. It shows you Shamar, and I can prove that. Click on the Shamar on the map (it is locations) and then click on the Shamar flag. It shows you the exact same gameplay that you just saw.

Damn, the graphics and the sound are so epic. It might a little more epic than Luigi Mansion, even though it’s a game. Looking cool so far. ROFL at the knight with a camera. Usually, visitors of haunted buildings take cameras, but this time it’s the other way round.
You know what this movie could also use? A short guitar solo concert! You know, like the one in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening when Dante was rocking out with Nevan the Vampire/Guitar.
I’d love it if with the strum of a guitar, Sonic suddenly went werehog and screamed “ROCK AND RO–(almost howls)–OOL!!!” while giving the viewer the sign of the horns. I’m sure other teenage Sonic fans who also like rock music will love this.
P.S. If you look more carefully, Sonic the Werehog actually appears BEFORE the transformation. Lololol.

Tada! Watch as the world slowly spins by in the background. Each image-thing represents one world, and there are nine in all. Realize that these representations aren’t totally accurate…Shamar’s representation is a good example of this. Some of the ruins look like they belong in Abadat, others most certainly do not…its very hard to tell what the actual level is supposed to be. I had thought the last level would be the center of the Earth, but now I’m not so sure.

emmm. the japan site have 2! places a Jungle and a Ruins, and the jungle is ABADAT, ABADAT have ruins, this is so obvious. BUT THE SITE HAVE OTHER RUINS, this ruins supposed to be a Eggman Land, this ruins between Apotos & Chun nan in the site but maybe the ruins is are other stage so Sonic Unleashed have a 10 stages! no 9.
the ruins you are thinking of between apotos and chun nan are not eggmanland. They are sharmar. I felt that was quite obvious.

Those “ruins” are Spogonia. Note the lack of Spogonian pictures elsewhere on that world. The ruins between Apotos and Chunan is Spogonia. At least I am pretty sure.

I guess thats what they get for paying 400+ dollars for a machine thats so advanced it cant even handle the games that are made for it. LOL Go Nintendo WII. Wii version will own all with superior gameplay and fun controls. You 360 and PS3 owners can keep your pretty scenery while I have fun on the wii version.

I don’t know what you’re talking about but there was a website that claimed that the PS3 version was confirmed to come out in NA on the 18th, and it had text proof so I’m going with that.

To be honest, none of the systems this gen make me happy. There’s only about 10 games I want for each system, and they’re spread out way too evenly for my taste. The lack of traditional RPG’s and platformers frustrates me…I play my DS more than I would any next gen system. And after I get my 360, I’d probably get a PSP before a PS3. I think fanboys of this generation are deluded, to be honest. The wii is an underpowered gimmick(honestly, I hate motion controls) that I bought only because Nintendo actually releases traditional games. Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Legend of Zelda, Wario Land:Shake it! etc. And I like Sonic & the Secret Rings, too. Zack & Wiki was nice, and I’m looking forward to Madworld.
As far as the 360…I mostly plan to buy one for the Sonic games. Aside from that…Mirrors Edge, Final Fantasy 13…MK vs DC. Honestly, I have trouble thinking of more games I’d want to buy. Basically…five games. But I REALLY want those five. I’m sure I’m forgetting something, though. Maybe Banjo&Kazooie. MAYBE. Even the deep, strory driven 360 titles are shooters. BioShock completely had me fooled…
As far as PS3…whenever they get a game that interests me aside from Ratchet & Clank and MGS4, I’ll consider paying $400 for a blue ray player with video game capabilities.
Viva la DS! Platformers! RPG’s! Action games without first person shooting! And cheap, too.
Oh, and Sonic Unleashed…is…like totally awesome. I’d buy my 360 just for that(and pick up ‘06 as well, just for giggles). I wish it was a pack-in game and not…what, Sega superstars tennis?

@Crazee: i’m sorta with you there bro, sometimes i find more interest in handheld titles. but believe me, i think the ps3 is a better choice over the psp, i only bought a psp 4 weeks ago and went a little over hyped about it, but it’s not THAT awesome. i really want a DS For rush and cooking mama. but seriously i’m enjoying my ps3, and trust me, so far there have been too many games for me to afford. i get a lot into the digital distribution i have bought a ton of games off the PSN, and as far as digital distribution games we’ve got the big “N’s” balls rofl. those games you mentioned ARE great. but all the games you mentioned with the exception of wario land shake it (which i don’t want) i’ve already owned and got over. i sold my wii at around january, don’t get me wrong. there are still some things that i like on the wii, mad world for one. but i got over it. what console has the highest percentage of games under an aggregate score of 50%, oh thats right the wii, serously the third party support for awesome games is seriously lacking. it’s like it had a small renaicansse with games like zack and wiki, then the shovel ware came. also BK nuts and bolts is totally unnescessary, anhd i wouldnt buy it if i had a 360, not saying u shudn’t just that i won’t

@Wow: i’m sorry D_8 sometimes i get annoyed because i’ve had a wii, and i know they are’nt all that great. i’m still not sure which version will end out with better level design, dimps know their ****, by why do the two version have to be different in design anyway? the only reason i can think of is that the wii needs different levels because it’s using a motion control scheme, or just different i dunno, does the wii version use motion control?

Alright, since everyone always gets so padantic about “console superiority” whenever the slightest mention of a console is brought up, let me get out my two-bits on the matter. Video game consoles have had, has, and always will have positive and negitive qualities that set them apart from the competition. Some of these qualities are more importent to diffrent people, and they form their opinions around these qualities. The diffrence in this generation is that the qualities are so extream, people mix fact and opinion togeater. People get pleasure from diffrent places; there is absolutly no sence in enjoyment, and there is nothing wrong with enjoying something others don’t. Where is the sence in the arguments of “superiority” when there is oviously no such thing?
And there is something else I would like to mention: as the generation ages, companies understand the negitive qualities of the generation as a whole and slowly correct them. The industry is ever growing; the issues of of today will be forgotton by tomarrow.
Even so, we will never be able to alter the opinions or the pleasures of others, so why do we try? We should no be so deeply concerned over the negitive qualities of consoles, or what others take pleasure in, we should simply take pleasure in what we individually happen to enjoy.

I am getting an XBOX 360 for Christmas and Sonic Unleashed along with it! I am going to rent the PS2 version to see if it looks as good as the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions.
@Sonicfan2525: Sonicfan If I were you I would hold off on the PS2 version i hear it is not even comparible to the other console versions but I know it will be hard..But it will be worth it.
