@someone: Yeah, but that would be cheap because Hyper Sonic use the exact same amount of rings like Super Sonic and has full invincibility.
@Mark Chao: still, hyper sonic is faster, stronger, and cooler too. and it’s harder to get, cuz u need the 7 chaos emeralds and the master emerald and then you must super charge the emeralds for becoming hyper sonic. and BTW, hyper sonic only appeared once, and he was the first sonic to actually have a homing attack and it also has “stars” around him that killed instantly

o bummer. I am literally gonna get it the second it comes out and I will play it like non-stop. I just hope the game is not too short. Do you know if the wii version has 9 levels. Cuz there was a rumor back in the summer that it will only has 7.

woah! if all that info you gave is true it definitely will not be a short game. I obviously knew about day and night stages and bosses. But I had no idea there would be 2 unlockable stages for each area. That is cool.
Someone- When I said storybook garbage from secret rings I didn’t say it was bad game. I own secret rings and beat it (really tough game to beat. PIRATE STORM LEVELS+FINAL BOSS=frustration)
I happen to think it was a fun game too. But you have to admit the storytelling was lame. No matter what tho sonic unleashed will own all other sonic games! Maybe except genesis games and Sonic adventure.

@sonicbrawlchamp: yeah the storytelling/book theme was kinda bad, but it was a nice game, beat all the missions but didn’t complete the special book, though. and yeah, the final boss was ridiculously hard, i still struggle to beat him, and all i’ve got is a silver medal. some pirate levels were hard, but the game itself is nice, but i would have liked it to have the exploration sense thing, not that it goes forward by itself. but i liked the graphics and enemies and music. the skills were not bad but they weren’t good either, and sonic had some sweet moves and a good sense of speed. SatBK looks cool too ^_^
He wouldn’t neccasarily know the dates were updated by SOA if it was delayed…
But I’m convinced.

I just doubt that SU is releasing Friday anywhere, you’d think the fans in Europe would have mentioned seeing more emphasis. Unless they’re promoting the Wii/PS2 version that much, and releasing it lowkey…

Just read release dates! PS2 gets it first hey, I’ve got to wait for 3 days after the U.S for my 360 version. Unlucky European PS3 owners, thats just rough.
Anyone else like the new design of the Tornado….3? Also, Sonic Unleashed should be released in december IMO. Too many good games have come out and Sonic would probably be left in the dust. Plus, I need some time to get all the achievements in Gears of War 2. I also want Sega to stop releasing trailers and spoiling the game. The lure of watching them is too great and I have to post the trailers on youtube too. All the things that are left are the hub worlds for 360 or the point and click hubs for the Wii, the bosses, Empire City and Eggmanland, the cutscenes, the final level, the final boss, a thorough analysis of every level that’s not Mazuri and Apotos, and the Tornado stages. Funny how I know the entire game already.
I’d rather it not be delayed due to competition…the competitors aren’t even the same genre of game. As for me, I’d rather have the game sooner since Chrono Trigger will own my consciousness in December.

What do you guys think, by estimating how long the game is and it’s difficulty, how long should it take to complete?
Chrono Trigger is a remake of a SNES game…it’s an RPG. And one of the greatest games ever…IMO.
SU should take a couple weeks, but mostly since I can’t play games everyday. And even then, only a few hours. I’d guess two to three weeks, depending on how busy I am.

OMFFFFFG! Deep breath. Sonic Unleashed is released in North America on November 18 for Wii and PS2, on November 24 for Xbox 360, and on December 12 for PS3.
The European dates are November 14 for PS2 and Wii, November 28 for Xbox 360 and December for PS3. The game is delayed in Japan until Spring 2009.

I love the megaman series…I’ve been replaying the X series. I’m in the Doppler levels in x3. Anyways, other than 9…the last special Megaman game is the game I’m playing. x4 and on are decent, but the series has fallen off MUCH harder than Sonic games. I think it’s weird how Sonic games get so much hate…I mean, Sonic Rush>most new Megaman games.

Sonic, Kirby, Megaman, Link and random Final fantasy hero FTW. Seriously, I have no number 5…but I like Final Fantasy. So…all of those guys.
I like Mario games…but I’ve beat so few of them (Mario 3, Mario world, Mario 64) that I hardly consider myself a huge fan.
How is Megaman better? Sonic is like a spike ball of death at the speed of sound. He can also create tornadoes at will. If he touches Megaman he’s dead. Now gameplay wise, I prefer Megaman, especially since the games are fun-ner to play. @Tails: I was asking what everyone thought of the Tornado’s new look, not where to find it.

@Mark Chao: actually, the 360.PS3 version now goes at 45 fps, and mayb the wii compensates the lesser quality graphics by having more fps
the wii didnt need the hedgehog engine when they put it in the other version te frame rates were bad well thats what I think

I really, REALLY hate telling strangers how to think.
But the comments in that kotaku story are epic fail. They were wondering why Hashimoto doesn’t FIX the problems if he’s aware of how Sonic fans feel.
What they should feel embarassed about is…this is his first time directing a Sonic title. And already he’s:
1. Relegating other characters to minor roles
2.By all accounts, fixing the camera
3.Adding side scrolling 2D segments
4.Incoporating precise platforming, stage gimmicks and branching paths
Even with this, he’s helped craft what looks like a beautiful title. On the downside…if you’re opposed to it…you have the werehog. But still, I don’t see the problem. Sonic the Werehog is more Sonic-y than most play styles in SA 1 or 2(aside from Sonic, obviously…and SA1 Tails and SA2 Shadow). It’s just…instead of slowing down to platform…you’re a slower version of yourself to platform. Which is reminiscient of Sonic 1.
So, he IS listening. The game could still dissapoint, who knows? But it’s obvious they are working VERY hard…and the kind of attitude people have depresses me.
dont forget to for the wii version to post it on youtube. Just the begining and the first gameplay and hub world

I was up around 10 ol’ clock here in America to see if Europe receives the game, and post a sample of the Wii version on Youtube. Or hopefully the Night of the Werehog movie updates.
But nope, none of that happens. From reading some comments; supposedly a editor who interviewed the game got their dates wrong.
When it’s suppose to be the November 14th for Europe. It got side tracked to be meant (14 more days until release) for them. I knew things was a little fishy when some sites heavily stated that America is getting it first…But the dates weren’t confirmed at the time.

After defeating the 8 anti-legendary chao from Anti-Earth, the 8 legendary chao wanted to relax for a year, but that was cut short when crime all over the world rose at an incredible rate. So Mark Chao decided there was no time to rest and they had to go. I made up my own series called Sonic World: Accel. Its the future and Sonic re becomes the werehog .It has something I called the rage guage because he becomes dark spine with a supreme amount of anger. Dark Gaia is also back but it becomes infected with black sludge but gets on the werehog and the Frights I will tell you later what the sludge does what do you guys think.

youvsme- First of all graphics don’t make a game. Good and fun gameplay makes a game. And its not like the wii version looks bad either. The 360 just has a bit more texture on things. I don’t know about you, but I will be watching sonic not looking at the scenery. Second of all the controls are better on the wii so don’t even bring that up. The controls for 360 are just boring and repetitive and the same **** that was in sonic 06. And we all know how that turned out.
Thirdly wii version has modified engine but still runs at 60 fps. The difference there is not that big. I own a 360 but I’m not wasting money on a boring game that will only be a small step up from Sonic 06.
Wii version will be the most fun which is what made Sonic popular on the genesis. Too bad you won’t realize this until you’re playing your lame 360 version.

I hope im not the only one who sees it but in the Empire City Trailer, when it gets to the Werehog part look at the backround closely at 00:46- 00:49. As you can see the buildings dissapear. Hopefully this is fixed and this trailer was made a while back.

that stage looked amazing but i just have one problem with it. How do you die? Excluding the boss there were no real hazards in the level. No pits and anyone who gets killed by those enemies suck. After numerous and unfair deaths in Sonic 06 I probably shouldn’t complain about this, but where is the challenge.
The real challenge will be in later levels

@someone: That was the HD version, though. On that level, you had some bottomless pits and obstacles. To be fair, Holaska Wii looks frighteningly hard(bobsled platforming in 2D? Oh my giddy aunt). Then again…maybe Windmill Isle is the training stage? Because most Wii trailers show SOME obstacles.
That said, it’s too bad I can’t buy my 360 for another month because I have to play the lesser version first. I still want both, but the HD version is obviously the real product. I see this like I used to see portable versions of games. Fun on it’s own and interesting for fans, but you obviously want the better game.
…BTW, I’m going through my usual pessimism right before I’m about to buy a game. I did it with Chronicles, too. I’m like “Oh ****, I don’t want to play a Sonic racing game. There’s WAY too much drifting in the Wii version. No platforming, guys? No regular action? Just drifting and grinding?”

You didn’t notice the 2D bobsledding segments where a slightly mistimed jump(and I do mean SLIGHTLY) will likely lead to sudden death? I mean, it reminds me of those racing levels from Donkey Kong Country where you’d ride some vehicle through a level. I murder that game easily, but those levels irritate me to no end.

There WILL be a hub world in all versions. The Wii/PS2 version could possibly be less immersive.
And I really don’t care about graphics, but I can’t see where the HD gameplay looks any worse. So, good graphics and good gameplay>mediocre graphics and good gameplay.
That said…I’m buying both. The content is different, and the level designs are different. It’s like getting an expensive hack. Different layouts and palletes ftw. lol

I already have it planned out: if gamestop dosen’t do like they did w/t my brother when he reserved force unleashed ( we got to go to gamestop at 10:00pm and play the actual game the night before it came out; then we bought it at 12:00am ) i’m going to ask my mom that while i’m in school; to go buy the game with the statigey guide; then go to toys r us and buy the sonic the werehog toy and leave it all on my bed so when i get home from school it’ll be there! AND I’LL BE SO HAPPY! ( shes gonna use my money so she can’t say “oh, you can’t open it… that’s your christmas present.)

*Machine captures Blue Chao then Eggchao presses another button which separates 7 Chaos Emeralds from Blue Chao, the laser opens its cannon*
Eggchao:Oh ho ho ho ho. I’ve waited a long time for this.FIRE!
*Eggchao presses the button the laser hits with devastating force and there’s a shockwave*
Eggchao: Hm?
*All of a sudden the Earth starts to open up and a beast starts to appear*
Eggchao: Whoa! Heh heh.
*A body starts to come out, while something is happening to Blue Chao back at the laser*
*All of a sudden a hand grabs the Earth’s crust, and back at the laser, Blue Chao’s hand all of an sudden gets bulkier*
Blue Chao: Grr…Gr..Gr…
*A body starts to form and Blue Chao’s ears separate into three spikes going straight, 3 on each side*

*It’s power creates a dark atmosphere over the Northern Pole*
Characters:
Blue the Werechaos: A corrupt chaos looking form(werwolf combined with angel chaos like Chaos is a light chaos), Blue Chao grows 4x his size (Blue Chao is 1 ft. 5 in. so he reaches a height of 6 ft.) he’s a transparent navy color, his halo fuses into his head(much like Chaos’ light dot fused into his head), has five sharp claws on both hands, spike on the back of his head grows out, at the tip curves a little, and to big spikes come out from the top, bulkier than Chaos is, has Lime-green eyes (like Chaos’ eyes are), has long legs, shoes have spikes( like Were-Sonic’s shoes, note he is the only chao to wear shoes), can’t move as fast as he normally does, and can still use his wind and air powers.(Note: Blue Chao is a male chao)
Abilities: Has Tornado gauge which gives him a wind shield and gains tons of power.
Dark Gaia: I don’t think I need to explain.

i was just looking at the Apatos level for both the 360 and wii versions. i gotta say i’m a tap bit dissapointed in the wii version; i mean on the 360 it looked just like the real place; and was super fast but the wii was slower and had much less detail.

1.Chunan – china’s my 2nd favorite asian country. (japan’s my 1st)
2. Abadat – i’ve always liked myan ruins and jungles
3.Empire city – i like going to new york
4. Holoska – i like to “chill” out
5. Spogolia – it looks cool and i like the music (same with the rest)
6. Mazuri – i like the trees
7.Apatos – not much
8. Eggman land – i don’t really like eggman

i’m a little worried. did anybody else that saw the full apotos level vid for the wii notice that there were no sun/moon metals or video tapes collected. GASP; that means there might not be extra levels ffor the wii version!

Windmill Isle could be the training level. After all, it was the level right after the cutscenes in the 360 version as well. Re-watching Holaska and Shamar, there ARE more enemies than that.

@Sonication: Good point, I like the Wii version bosses more than the 360 version bosses because running into robots to send them into the flying robots seem cheap because no matter what they’ll hit them and jumping attacks seem so easy whereas Wii bosses run into you and you have to attack them sounds more fun.
@of them wallz sonic unleashed each has 2 daytime levels and 1 nighttime level blus a boss battle in 1 of the daytime stages and the nighttime stage

But hey; with a level like the one IGN played, it will be good enough to make the first level of the game and a tutorial stage!

Hey guys, I got a problem, I pre ordered Sonic Unleashed for the 360 but its broken, so my brother told me to switch the order to the PS3. Should I get it for Wii or the PS3?
@DonXDman: After hearing recent hands-on, the PS3 version is inferior to the 360 version due to bad framerate and bland texture. IGN claims the Wii build of the game may be the best of the bunch. I would go with Wii and get the 360 version when you get it fixed.

She is grey with big blue wings that wrap around her like a cape, she has a big spike coming out of the back of her head and at the tip turns downward like a hood. She has element powers of darkness and shadows like Blue Chao has the element powers of wind and air. She is the youngest of the 8 legendary chao while Blue Chao is the 3rd youngest. (note: Raven Chao is not a normal chaos chao like most of the rest expect for two others)

@Mark Chao: You tell people not to start console wars yet you yourself start them. I read a lot of your comments and I saw that you extensively promote the Wii at occasions and continue to say it’s better. You have also said that the 360 version sucks and have encouraged more Wii owners to join your side. For example: I believe I remember a comment from you (or your friend Sonication) that ign sucks and are ignorant. Now as soon as they say something positive about the Wii version and bash the 360 version (on a Wii’s hands-on by the way and he is one of the sites nintendo only staff) you imediately take it to heart and now justify you are getting the better version. The problem is that the hands-on was totally unreliable. He said the framerate was horrible on the 360 version and talked almost nothing about the night levels. His argument was about FRAMERATE which has been dramatically improved upon and not talked about by people just now getting a hands-on like TeamXbox. @MetalSonic: Yeah, the HD version is the real version. That wouldn’t neccasarily mean the Wii version couldn’t be better. It just means that those versions are more likely to reflect the visions of Sega, Sonic Team and Mr.Hashimoto himself. I think both consoles will get nice games, to be honest. If SU was only a Wii game, I’d be interested. NP just gave it an 8, and IGN is going to review it well it seems. But honestly…it’s the HD version that hits you in the head and says “Whoah…THAT is what I want in a Sonic game!”. I’m a Wii defender and play the system a lot, but it’s just a natural consequence of multi-platform titles. I AM glad they made the games different, though. It doesn’t feel as scaled down when you at least have different designs and play styles.

Oh, and demos aren’t usually made for people to play games before release. They tend to come out before the retail copy, but the primary function is just to let people try it out to see if it’s worth buying. So…it’s still worth putting out a demo after release.

guys forget about the demo. The games finished on tuesday amd it hits the stores at 5 o clock wednsday. I also think that this game will get a 8/10 for xbox 360/PS3 and a 9/10 for wii. Plus people who get the wii version there will be no side scrolling rails. But there will be sun and moon medels, (Maybe) a hub world, and almost as good graphics. Maybe it’s good dimps is doing the wii version. Branching pathways will have a motion apear 1 at a time for wii.

Hey guys, just confirming some release dates. I went to Gamestop to get Animal Crossing for Wii and confirmed the release date for SU on the 360 while I was there, as I had pre-ordered it a while ago. (I have both Wii and 360)
The Wii/PS2 versions of SU should be out on the 18th. That has been known for a while.
The new information I got was the 360 is being released on the 21st, (aka being shipped on the 20th, on sale the 21st) which is 3 days sooner than the rumored date.
I didn’t get any info on the PS3 version from GameStop, but IGN states the PS3 version will be released on December 12th, 2008. Don’t know if it is rumored or not, but seems correct due to SU on PS3 being confirmed to be released in December.
So 360 owners have to wait till this Friday, and Wii/PS2 owners will have their copies on Tuesday. So GET READY TO BE…

youvsme- I don’t want to fight with you again but this is another example of why you are a noob. This is a trailer! It’s not what the game will actually look like. If you look at the first few next gen trailers you will see a major lacking of enemies there too.
@sonicbrawlchamp: I’ll have to agree with youvsme here, there was only a total of 16 enemies (not counting the miniboss) in the level. I don’t care if it was the first level, no pits (which is actually good, but not in this case), 16 enemies. Even if the later levels are shown to be harder, from what we’ve seen, it’s bland. At least compared to the Xbox and Playstation versions. I am getting both wii and 360, so I don’t really need to worry about this, but for right now, the wii version looks empty.

The game ships tomorrow…actually, some store already have it. But most people won’t get it until Wednesday. Keep that in mind.
