Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Coming Summer 2010
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will be available as Downloadable Content for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PS3 this Summer. The new series aims to return to Sonic’s root…now where have we heard that before?
Sonic The Hedgehog 4 looks like many of the Sonic handheld games.
We’re being very cautious with this title, but maybe this new episodic series really will be making an effort to return to a more pleasing time of Sonic gameplay. Screenshots from the game make it look like a classic Sonic sidescroller (though in HD), and also reflect familiar gameplay mechanics that we seem to remember from the classic Sonic games.

CS used to post Sonic Unleashed only updates before Sonic Unleashed was released. But ever since SU came out, they completely stopped caring and updating this site. I think I’m going to unsubsribe to this place how.
lol wow, you guys haven’t updated this place for over a year and you’re about 3 months late on the latest Sonic game. I guess you guys don’t care what happens to this site anymore.
Yup. It’s true. I have other work that needs doing, and Camp Sonic had to be put on hold. We’re working on setting up a payment program for contributors so that it’s not just a one man show.
Well, I’ve been the one giving Sonic 4 news updates on youtube, and so far… I think the game is alright, it could be better :)

The changes in the logo look cool.
I’m half excited for this game. I don’t have a console to play it yet. Many people expected it to be better than what it is. Me, I’m glad it’s 2D and that it looks classic. If the gameplay is good too, it may be a very good Sonic game.

For the most part, I’m looking forward for this new installment. It seems the title will be promising but, I have like this “deja vu” feeling right now. The same hype I had for a few of the past Sonic titles, but unlike the others, this one feels definitely right. I’ll keep an eye out for the release date and hopefully buy it. Maybe this one will spark my love for the Sonic series again. I’ll be crossing my fingers!
Finally! I haven’t been here in months and now a new update. I really do hope Sonic 4 is good.

I saw you are/were working down at tutorial9, but I figured it wasn’t the time or the place for ask about Camp Sonic. Either way, tut9 is a beaut, and a very good resource…I can see why you were busy with that. :3
The problem with this game is that most everyone is expecting it to be everything to everyone…Sonic Team/DIMPS is trying, but it won’t be just liiiiike the classic titles, if only because we’re not in that time period/attitude of those days. I just want a solid Sonic experience, of which Sonic Unleashed was a good start…so this one? Well, I’m never really cautious about Sonic games, just…I don’t jump to conclusions is all.
Also, the episodic distribution method means there will more or less be a curve from the first episode (being the first, still kinks to work out) to the final one, which tends to be the most polished over all. People will be expecting a consistency that, frankly, they won’t get, so when the first one DOES come out, they might not be inclined to get the rest if it isn’t up to their standards. I also heard of a group boycotting buying Sonic 4…by buying Sonic 1. …which when you think about it, really doesn’t make that sense whatsoever. T___T;;

Sonic 4 doesn’t intrest me too much. It’s downloadeble and classic, for me that’s “nah”.

Okay, now my opinion on Sonic 4. I think the game looks alright but I’ll try and hold my judgement until the game releases. I think this is the best attempted of the series going back to it’s roots so far. All the other attempts like Sonic ‘06, we can look at the trailers and see it’s not going back to it’s roots.
This game is bringing back a lot of the old school elements from the glory days like the badniks, the checkered walls, the Sonic 1 special stages, the cute baby animals, Super Sonic playable in stages, etc, a lot of things the Sonic games were famous for and the new Sonic games are missing.
The only problems is that I hope that Sega, Dimps, Sonic Team or whoever is working on this game is to fix Sonic’s running and jumping animation. It looks pretty slow and floaty. And PLEASE don’t rush it! Don’t release the game until you fix all the problems! Take another 5 months or another year or so if you have to! Sonic can’t afford to have another terrible or mediocre game right now and a lot of people are saying that if they mess this one up then they should just give up on Sonic.
So I’m hoping that this game does well.
