Sonic Unleashed Nintendo Power Scans + Info

Play Magazine isn’t the only one with new info regarding Sonic Unleashed this month! While not as in depth as Play, Nintendo Power also published a short piece on Sonic Unleashed, with some new details in regards to the Nintendo Wii.

Sonic Unleashed for the Wii will feature gameplay that is, “changed, tuned, and balanced specifically for the Wii” says Patrick Riley (Game producer at SEGA of America). He continues, “the levels will be different, designed specifically for the Wii version.

Also important to note is that the teams who brought you Sonic Rush, and Sonic Rush Adventure are playing a huge role in the development of Sonic Unleashed for the Wii… so it’s probably safe to dismiss those worries you’ve had about a tuned down Wii version (yes, it will be tuned down visually, but c’mon… these guys know how to build a killer game).

Nintendo Power Sonic Unleashed Scans (May 2008)

Big thanks to K2J for uploading them @ SonicRetro.org.

Not sure who notified me about this first, but it was either Ssonic22 or one of our other readers, iNAUDiBLE who sent me a quick note over email. Thanks to both of you for being so on top of things and not letting this one slip under the radar! You guys are awesome!

Interesting speculation… I could certainly see that being a possibility. To me, it looks more like concept art instead of CG, but I could be mistaken.

@ Peeves - Our viewers play a very important role in our site, and we take pride in being as informative as possible!

@ dert - Sonic Unleashed is indeed going to be for the PS2, but we have not heard too much about it from SEGA as of yet. It’s probably safe to say that the PS2 version will not be using the Hedgehog Engine (just like the Wii), and will be fine tailored to the systems capabilities.

Unfortunetly, not much was revealed in theses magizines that wasnt already leaked. Notice how in ONM, they used some sonic pics from Secret Rings, and a sonic pic from the 360 game, just with a wiimote in hand.

Well, most of the magazine’s got screwed since all the information was leaked (they were supposed to be the ones revealing all of the information).

Play magazine got offered some extra material because of the mishap, so when you consider that, we really got MORE than we would have ;)

I don’t know why they keep mentioning the whole future Bioware dasaster… but whatever.

    I hope that the wii version doesn’t have a hiked-up price….
